Sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Works well in That 70's Show and Whose Line is it Anyway. Just kind of adds to the light hearted atmosphere sometimes.

I tend to laugh during the silence and remain silent during the laugh track just to make whoever is next to me very uncomfortable.

The best ones are the ones where you don't actually remember there being a laugh track when thinking back on the show.

I mean, I can't remember an example right now but I do remember being surprised with a show having a laugh track when rewatching it after a couple of years.
>>
It's a sad attempt to make unfunny dialog humorous to simple-minded viewers.
>>
Don't care for it unless they waste even more time clapping for special guest
>>
They straight up ruin a show for me, they big up unfunny jokes and ruin subtle ones.

But then again I just hate how jarring the random pauses in dialogue are.

I can't even imagine why someone would actually want a laughter track for any other reason than to remind them to laugh.
>>
Someone post a webm of The Big Bang Theory video where that guy took out all the laughter tracks.
>>
I dare anyone to argue Married With Children isn't twice the show it would be without a laugh track. It practically begs for white trash hoopin' and hollerin'.
