>bulldoze every theater that cannot be turned into an IMAX cineplex
>make every remaining theater into an IMAX-only cineplex and make those theaters even better than ever by upgrading them and offering premium services such as food service, luxury seating, and seat booking with staff monitoring the screening area at all times to ensure niggers are thrown out immediately.
>Make every cinema chain distribute movies via a unified, premium VOD service in order to have every film go directly to 1080p/4K VOD on the day of release so nobody is forced to go to the theater anymore.
>Offer those VOD movies on a rolling price schedule. 1st month will have a 24 hour rental of $39.95. 2nd and 3rd month will have a 24 hour rental fee of $29.95. After 3 months, the Bluray goes on sale and ends up on Amazon, iTunes, and other VOD outlets at market-driven prices.
>have moviegoers have the option of seeing the latest films at the theater in IMAX for the same single ticket prices as they currently offer.
Tada, no more bullshit.
Can anybody improve this already perfect business model?
>>79247744
Sounds heavily dependent on this VOD service, in which case, why are studios going through the movie chain to offer these movies?
Also, if the digital files are out there, then pirates will rip it - in HD - the same day the movie comes out. Imagine 1080p instead of camrips. That'd increase piracy substantially and yes that would be lost sales.
>>79247744
We need bigger playpens for our falcons too
>>79247808
Most people will have seen the movie in their homes or theater anyway by the time somebody is able to get a rip out.
>>79247808
>why are studios going through the movie chain to offer these movies?
Because some people still like to go to the theater
>>79247856
How do you figure? As soon as it's available it'll be ripped. Why would anyone rent it the 2nd or 3rd month?
The think the idea to push premium is already on the minds of all chains. It's why stadium seating over took, and recliners are taking over the rest of the standard seating. It's also why reserving is becoming more common these days.
>>79247912
Because the other option is to go to the cinema.
Most people do not pirate rips. If you make movies easier to watch, more people will buy.
>>79247972
> the other option is to go to the cinema
Nigger what are you saying? The other option is to download the hd torrent that was uploaded by a guy who had the vod service.
>>79248109
That's you. Not normies. Giving normies the chance to rent a movie for 24 hours on the day of release will encourage them to press buy.
>>79247940
It's definitely working and its also doing a good job gentrifying theaters.
>>79248851
Just like with restaurants, there's no spontaneity in seeing a film. No more rushing for seats, no more reserving with coats and purses. The next step is 18+ only screenings, no exceptions.
>>79248947
Restaurants dont have that
>>79248947
Feels good, man.
>>79247744
>AND MAKE IT BETTER FOR CONSUMERS
That's not their goal, though. The goal is to maximize profit while minimizing expense - it's called Capitalism.
>>79248974
I mean people don't just duck into a restaurant unless it's Fridays-tier or lower. You look that stuff up on apps, read reviews, and then make a reservation.
>>79247744
I think the future lies in full 360 degree holographic movies projected around a round theatre similar to circus big tops, thereby making the old experience of 'audience facing a 2D screen' obsolete. James Cameron will invent the tech and pioneer the first round theatres with the release of the coming Avatar movies.
>>79249004
I know, but they will have to concede at some point in order to continue making a profit due to how technology is eating into their profits.
>>79247940
>>79248851
>>79248976
That's all good and all, but going to he cinema will never be the same again with the advent of digital projection. There's no reason to go anymore when you're literally watching the same quality in your home. Plebs and the young ones will never experience the visceral enjoyment of watching a film again.
>>79249120
That's why you want IMAX only.
>>79247744
remove mahtzah ball soup
>>79247744
Make sure they have better anvil accessibility.
>>79247940
>>79248947
Lucas and Spielberg talked about this somewhere. They said that the movie going experience has to become a premium experience, on par with going to live theater, to remain viable. Also, price differentiation, with blockbusters at a premium (beyond the existing premium of IMAX and 3D), and small budget movies shown at essentially matinee prices all the time.
>>79249859
>small budget movies shown at essentially matinee prices all the time.
That would quite interesting, but people would start buying tickets for the lower price movies and just sneak into the big budget, if it's general admission.
Then again, that movie cause theaters to ONLY want blockbusters, so they can pack their screens with more expensive tickets.
"IMAX" is bulltshit anyway. There was an idea of IMAX and then they changed the rules so a theater with 1/4 the screen size could be changed to be called "IMAX". It's all bullshit, loook into it.
>>79250545
Yeah, they're all LieMAX. Still fine in concept, because more larger screens with better sound systems isn't a bad end result.
>>79250499
Tickets will have RFID chips in them. Once you pass the penis inspection, they can track where you go.
>the two cinemas nearby my uni got in a student ticket price war and now both sell student tickets for AU$6 (US$4.5)
>the only cinema in my home town sells student tickets for AU$16 and adult tickets for AU$19
>this cinema is also has considerably smaller screens and much more expensive food
>as a result going to the cinema in the city is almost a weekly occurrence
>rarely even a monthly occurrence for people in my home town
Supply and demand sure is a doozy
it's very easy. netflix plus pateron style vlogs/diaries with actors/actress on set when they are making movies. legion of autism will subscribe to it and make them millions.
>>79248230
For $40??
Lolno
>>79249859
>anvil accessibility.
somebody redpill me on this meme
>>79252104
$40 is cheap considering you can screen a first run movie in your house to anybody you want for 24 hours.
>>79250545
>"IMAX" is bulltshit anyway. There was an idea of IMAX and then they changed the rules so a theater with 1/4 the screen size could be changed to be called "IMAX". It's all bullshit, loook into it.
This is true. I don't get how they were able to do this.
>>79253153
Unless I'm getting a blu-ray special edition box-set of a trilogy $40 is fucking ridiculously expensive.
>>79254735
People used to pay 99.99 to get the VHS tape in the first couple weeks it was available.
>>79254819
only die hard fans of specific series actors or directors pretty much only fans of something relating to the movie will pay for shit like that. Dont kid yourself thinking normies will pay anything more than 20 dollars
>>79254735
Not if you invite people to see it
>>79247744
Or you know alternately make theaters only play this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbgf5BC_s-4
>>79247744
Burt what about cheaper crab legs?
>>79255953
that too
>FERDA PEOPLE
Yeah okay.
Make corn kernels cost under 20$ a bag, make movies that aren't liquid shit, and maybe footrests.
>>79247744
Good troll like start... I give you a 7/10 score That aside a few comments.
First problem... Better for consumers. Movie business is to make money. Consumers are only provided for if it gets the movie production company a return on investment.
Second problem
>Make every cinema chain distribute movies via a unified, premium VOD service in order to have every film go directly to 1080p/4K VOD on the day of release so nobody is forced to go to the theater anymore.
So why go to theater?
( And the example of the Hulk(2003) with it's leaked version spreading terrible word of mouth reviews show how a social media world works) (There is a reason remakes and reboots seem more common - safe return on investment and improving tech)
Third Problem
And relating to your understanding of the problem. IMAX is not the beat all, end all movie watching experience.
>have moviegoers have the option of seeing the latest films at the theater in IMAX for the same single ticket prices as they currently offer.
Some people don't care about IMAX or 3D. Some movies do not play well on IMAX. As someone who worked in theaters a technically advanced cinema costs more to run. more to build, more upkeep much harder to maintain.
The IMAX only model breaks in presentation and usage. Same price no way... you don't even know how much power a projection system takes.
Movie theaters do not get much of the ticket that is sold to the consumer at least when the movie is first released for a high end well advertised movie. They derive most of the theaters operating funds from the concession stand.
Fourth problem
>with staff monitoring the screening area at all times to ensure niggers are thrown out immediately.
"Police state" theaters are as bad as the one noisy person. Pulling someone out of the house is disruptive and can be more disruptive than letting them stay.
Build your self a nice home theater and call it quits.
>>79254819
And that was before streaming services. No way $40.00 for 24hrs will go over. Those expensive tapes usually went to the wealthy, the hard core fans and the illicits.
What will save the industry ? Less or shorter trailers . Bring back the mystery.
