I wish JNT heeded Tom Baker's advice and made 5 a woman so we wouldn't have to deal with all of this bullshit right now.

Obviously, there's the fact that the Corsair, Missy and the Time Lord General were shitty ideas in the first place due to the fact that we had years and years of established lore and episodes on Gallifrey without a single gender change, making it stick out a bit. Plus there's the fact that on some levels it'd make it harder to tell historical stories (not that they do much of those these days) and have them be accurate to the way women were treated at the time, although they can definitely write around that. And in my eyes, the Doctor is almost Male ego personified, that is one of the core tenants of his character that has run through pretty much every regeneration of his.

But Doctor Who is fluid. I could swallow all of these pills if I have to, if a female Doctor was written right and done tastefully. The thing is, not only will it evidently be written like shit, but it'll be turned into some grand thing and you just KNOW they'll keep making a big deal out of it to generate some of that internet buzz (all publicity is good publicity, as they say). I can just feel all the bad vibes already from both /pol/-tards and hardcore SJW's, and I already don't have the energy for it.

I have many more arguments against a Doctress.
For example, you'd have to get rid of major iconography such as the sonic screwdriver - because the writers would doubtless make dildo jokes/quips in every scene.

A Welsh children's book publisher that somehow got into tie-in fiction for everything from Gangsters to Merlin, and then became a haven for Doctor Who writers doing other things like John Peel's fantasy shit, and eventually ended up with the Lethbridge-Stewart novellas.
