Does /tv/ still use their VHS,Laser Discs or DVDs?
There was no response
>legendary sets such as the XBR which retailed at $5,500 are thrown on sideways and smashed in LMAOOOO DUDE YOUTUBE videos
What a mess
I guess I'm just too old
i have about 350 dvds, i have no idea what i am going to do with them. there used to be place downtown, a used bookstore, that accepted dvds and paid like $1 per dvd, wonder if i could still offload them there. guess i could just give them to some charity of they accept dvds.
My house has a DVD/VHS duel player
We found it in the garage :\
Remember when this meant something?

I still buy VHS at thrift stores sometimes if they've got rare stuff (which often hasn't been released in another format). I'm not exactly a real collector, though.

I sometimes see really expensive old shit and wonder why people were willing to spend so much money on them back in the day. Isn't there some TV with an NES built in that retailed for like $15,000 in 1989?
threw out a bunch(100 or so) of VHS tapes that hadn't been used for years.

Oh shit, I didn't know there was an earlier series. It any good?
>>79228839
You have to be rich to understand

Not true people had a different mindset(long term investment) more or less buy something really good and it will last for quite a while kind of like a car but hell these days apparently less people are even purchasing motor vehicles instead opting for leasing so fuck me I guess.

Yeah it's lovely some serious animation wank and shading.
The new StarCuck edits were a mistake
VHS, Betamax, Laserdiscs, CD, DVD
>>79229933
You still use Betamax for what?
>>79230066
Betamax > VHS
I have(my father)had both and used both
>>79230156
It was but SONY fucked up badly with Betamax by making it exclusively only for them to produce meanwhile JVC(VHS) didn't give a shit and let everybody produce VHS Players for a small fee.
>>79228977
But everybody has to have the latest tech no matter what
That's why it's always so expensive
>>79230278
And that's why they don't have any savings.

Dat history lesson

And you know them jams were like $500 a piece
>>79231287
Ebay son, but yeah sooner or later they will all croak.
>>79228568
Is this how people in 70's envisioned how 2010 will be?
>>79231391
Yeah, my dad wouldn't even let me put them in the player on my own.
Yep.
>>79230215
Other people made betamax players. I have a sanyo one myself.
They fucked up because their tapes were shorter (1 hour instead of 2) and porn.

Eventually.
At this point though, the failure is probably an easy fix.
I still have my VHS player in my room hooked up to this
As for DVD I have over 400 and use them regularly
DVD's are about the oldest I use, unless my family wants to watch one of our old disney VHS tapes.
