The movie was better in tone and the show had terrible long scenes that didn't need to exist. If the show was going for a witty approach it should learn that brevity is the soul of wit.

My girlfriend never read the books so I had to stop us watching the show so it wouldn't ruin how great the books are for her. They just keep putting quirky polka music over the dramatic scenes and killing any emotional connection to the characters.
