i dont know if its horrifying but definitely unsettling af
i love that feeling of dread, when theyre all just laughing at her and to themselves its like "oh shit im never going to get out of here am i?" and then she just jumps through the fucking window, the whole last few minutes are genuinely horrors best

Lynch is a master at building tension. This scene only lasts like 2 minutes and literally comes out of nowhere but it still manages to make your palms sweaty and fill you with a sense of dread.

The table scene was fantastic. I can still vividly recall my date throwing up in the theater we were in.
There's barely any gore in the film too, aside from the guy cutting his own hand or Leatherface's leg, it's pretty tame. Apparently the director wanted the film to get a PG rating by keeping violence moderate, language mild, and having most of the horror implied offscreen.
