I didn't know what else to put for number 4. I really like Welles, Kane being my favorite, but that seemed even less interesting then the Seventh Seal. The Tree of life is also up there but I wanted to stick to one per director. I guess I could have said World on a Wire or Landscape Suicide if I wanted to seem more "patrician" but those are somewhere in the top 20, not top 4.
And yes, the characters, the music, the mystery, it's all so much fun to sort out, it's pretty funny too.
