In the books, Legolas was the member of the fellowship who contributed the least, he mostly just fucked around and Aragorn seriously reconsidered taking him with at some point.

Legalos was already absurd in LOTR. Setting his absurdity to 11 in Five Armies ruined the movie for me. Him hopping across those stones, defying physics, as they freefall haunts me.
