Most ghost-ship stories can be explained with that the crew panicked and thought the ship would sink, got in the lifeboat and either it sunk, they died from exposure adrift on the ocean or they landed on some uninhabited island and died without being found. for some reason I got really into PoTC when the first couple movies were out. I even played the online Disney game (was pretty fun at the time tbqh). The third was convoluted- but still enjoyable to some degree.
The fourth was the absolute worst. The problem is that Will/Elizabeth were the closest to "main characters" you could get. Now it really doesn't matter anymore. The music doesn't even fit the setting for the trailer. I'd be very surprised if this movie comes out decent.

So this is set roughly 20 years after the third movie, since Will came on land after 10 years at the end of it to see his kid (10 years old) and the kid will have to be at least around adulthood, plus they have a kid actor already lined up for the movie 3 flashback

This is something that always bothered me about every new sequel

First the Black Pearl was all the fuzz. Then came the Flying Dutchman which completely blew the BP out of the water, and they established the Dutchman's captain as king of the seas and undead. Then came Blackbeard with the QAR and his weird voodoo zombies, and suddenly the Pearl seemed even weaker in the overall fluff.

Now we have yet again undead spooky pirates, and a ship that BTFOs the QAR. How long will the keep up the power creep?

I always wondered if this would work. The only problem I imagine is that they'd need superhuman strength to keep it from floating to the top, as well as weights to keep them on the ocean floor.

I guess CO2 poisoning would become a problem pretty quickly, can't imagine you could be under for more than 5 minutes

Also you can't see. You'd need to be a good judge of the distance walked to come up right under the boat they were trying to steal. If they came up to early I think the guards would notice a small wooden ship bursting out of the ocean along with two dudes.

I know what happens. Jack gets the Trident and all it does is open the ships from the bottle. Salazar makes a speech how he can't be beaten 2:1. So Jack raises every single captured ship and makes it like 50:1.

That's what happens. Directors basically confirmed it too.

I don't care what anyone says, the entire sequence taking place on the island at the end of Dead Man's Chest is so entertaining that its actually shocking. There's not a single second wasted, it's fucking perfect.

However, if they are willing to stay aboard the ship, then they'll grow all those sea deformities back over time. For Will and the crew, it hasn't been that long, only 10 years. So give them enough time they will grow back to the exact same way they were, including Will.
