FMF and Coraline both came out the same year.

I love FMF and have watched it dozens of times. I don't regret watching Coraline, but I never need to see it again.

Coraline, objectively, has much more elaborate and ambitious animation. FMF is a very nice looking movie, but doesn't do the things Coraline does.

But FMF has such amazingly funny dialog (YOU WROTE A BAD SONG!) that it's worth watching over and over again.

Coraline doesn't have *bad* dialog, but it just gets the job done. It tells its story, and then it's over, and you're done with it.

I think I don't give a fuck about animation. it's just a coincidence that a lot of the best writing is in animated stuff.
