Why do plebs need relatable stories? Are they so intellectually challenged?
Film is about empathy, sharing goals, dreams and weaknesses at least for a little while, not jerking off your ego and poor intellect

Yeah man I really empathized with the characters in Casablanca, I'm glad they got on that plane or I would of felt bad.
Fucking autist. Self insertion is the plebbest thing you can do.
>>79113988
Take Citizen Kane, for example, is it relatable? Certainly not without effort. What does Kane share with the common man?
>>79114222
>empathy = self insertion
I'm not the autist here.

It's also perceived reliability rather than actual reliability, like the people who think Batman is relate-able.

Strong words from Ira Glass whose people has only created abstract postmodern trash. No wonder his robot brain can't "relate" to something so quintessentially human, Anglo, European, Western.

Settle down, you'll get there someday mate.
This God Tier bait, I'll be sure to repost it a few months from now.
Good job, OP
I've thought about this recently, it seems like the movies of the past were transcendentalist. Celebrating the good of humanity, the ability to face adversity, having faith whether it be in God, Man or Reason. Now it is overtly deconstructionist, it is about tearing down tradition,. There is value in criticism but it serves to demoralise- to separate and destroy.
The hero is beaten, the society is shamed, the achievements of man are theft, faith is foolish and acceptance is at the expense of self acceptance.

they're pretty to look at, but they don't offer anything meaningful. In that sense, the skill with which they were made actually degrades the art form as a whole. Tarantino's work had the same effect decades later, and film still suffers for it.

>doesn't change that it was better than the previous artistic current
Get a dose of American realism, spaghetti boy.
No one can make a better western than an American. The first Hollywood movie, The Squaw Man, was a western. The Great Train Robbery was a western.

Great westerns originate with the Italians though.

Well history disagrees, it may upset you but is not an american western the one known worldwide and that everyone recognize.
But please, go on.

Replace Passion of Joan of Arc with Intolerance
Replace Seven Samurai with The Searchers
Replace Bicycle Thieves with Toni
Replace The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with 3 Bad Men
Keep Pulp Fiction
Keep Boyhood

It doesn't matter what plebs recognize. What matters is John Ford, William S. Hart, and Raoul Walsh have directed hundreds of westerns greater than any spaghetti shit.
>>79119542
Ah yes, nice meme answer.
Sure, because only plebs recognize the quality of those movies.
