In any event, Cameron can't just rehash the first Avatar and expect it to be a huge success. Avatar had ZERO impact on popular culture, fucking nobody remembers or cares about Avatar. The only thing it did was make the Jews realize they could make more money if they added a shitty 3D effect to movies.

Avatar 2 will have to actually have a good story, memorable characters, strong pacing, etc. Otherwise the franchise is doomed.

Imagine the pressure Cameron feels. Sure the movie made a gorillion dollars and won a ton of awards and was even nominated for Best Picture, but surely he must also know how people think that the story is pretty lackluster and that people want more from this sci-fi universe and that it's competing with Star Trek and Star Wars.

And now he is done writing FOUR(!) sequels at the same time and starting in August filming them all at the same time. I wouldn't be able to sleep from fear of not meeting people's expectations.
