Realtalk: I hate this frequently used idea that Gotham never improves and none of the villains ever reform despite Batman constantly winning, all just to maintain the status quo and keep churning out storylines using the same villains again and again. It necessarily makes Bruce into a jaded asshole after a while. Furthermore it invalidates the no kill rule that defines Batman. By exploiting Batman characters and stories too much they ruin them.
