worth watching but pretty average overall, a couple good laughs and a lot that doesn't work. I wanted to like it more

Haven't seen it since I rented it from a local video store (remember those?), but I remember renting it a few times back then so I must've liked it.

Describes the experience of watching just about any Larry Cohen movie, IMO. He's good at setting up an interesting premise, but once that is done and the plot kicks in, I lose interest. Cohen flicks that don't have this problem: The Ambulance, Bone and Wicked Stepmother.
