It's worth it. I had the blu ray taunting me for like two years because I didn't want to watch something that long. It's a masterpiece and a fucking epic and it wouldn't be if it was shorter. >>79054162 this though. The footage actually does add a bit, but the difference in quality between the rest of the movie and the work print or whereever they salvaged the new footage from is jarring enough to make it not worth it.

Satanstago is true long kino
Bergman's Fanny and Alexander is an obvious recommendation.
Also check out The Best of Youth. 368 minute Italian film, and it's absolutely beautiful.

Shoah. 9 hours.
>workprint: 325 minutes
>most recent version: 216 minutes

Berlin Alexanderplatz is a 14-part miniseries, not a movie. So that list is not trustworthy.
Longest film I ever watched: Satantango.
It got annoyingly lengthy during the dance scenes but other than that it was a sublime experience.

>Fanny and Alexander
Similar to Das Boot there is a cinema version of Fanny & Alexander (only 3 hours long) and a much longer tv miniseries.
So it doesn't really apply here.
Obligatory, and a great watch too.
