My family has Jeopardy on every day when we eat together.

I really wanted her to lose today. Nothing against her but it's time for somebody else to win. Every time Alex finished reading the question and it went to the contestants, the guy on the right was clicking frantically, but somehow she always light up. I felt bad for him since he obviously knew a bunch of the correct questions.

Which by the way, made me wonder. How does that work? Does the first person who buzzed in while Alex is reading get to answer first, and it doesn't light up until he is done? Or is it the first person who buzzes in immediately after Alex is done reading?

I feel the same way. Even when I like a champion, it's still kind of shitty to see them get all the Daily Doubles and just steamroll over everyone.

There's the ameliorative element of the person in 3rd choosing first in Double Jeopardy, but it's still really possible for a confident player to just sweep the whole game.

Do you guys remember that absolute heart wrenching qt who won about three games in a row back in December? She had this real quiet voice, and I assumed it was just because she was sort of shy. Ended up that she was undergoing cancer treatment and died shortly after; winnings were donated to some cancer charity.

Rarely do I give a shit about the contestants but I actually thought she was sweet. Felt really sad after hearing about her dying.

A white light around the board lights up then whoever hits the buzzer first gets to answer. If you buzz early you get penalized a fraction of a second of when you can ring in afterwards.
