Has /tv/ seen this interview? I think he gets it pretty right. I was 17 when skins first aired and remember thinking then that my life was nothing at all like that.

Also that's blatant cherry picking. Skins has numerous moments that reflect the characters vulnerability and coming of age, whether nerds like it or not kids do dumb things and do socialise, just because they're being promiscuous and abusing drugs doesn't mean it's all surface level thrills.

Also Skins is over the top in places on purpose, some of that is seperated humour.

I wanted to fuck Effy so bad when I watched Skins as a teenager. I didn't have hardly any friends and had no emotional connections and was full of angst. That show was really good. The ending of season 4 or 5 or whatever was so fucking weird, came out of nowhere. I never watched the whole US version but damn the UK one was the shit.
