I wondered this same question and so I watched a behind the scenes video for GoT. They make all of their armor out of plastic because:

>It doesn't weigh anything, so the actors don't get tired.

In other things, like that Dracula Movie, they can create absurdly intricate suits of armor for next to nothing since it's just a mold. You could probably create the same thing out of metal, but it'd essentially cost a fortune.

I'm going to be completely honest, this movie looks like complete shit. Is this trying to be historical? Is it fantasy? Why would they do a fantastical retelling of a story mostly grounded in reality with a few minor magical elements? Why is Arthur a fucking thief? Why does he live in Minas Tirith? Why are there dragons? What the fuck is that armor design?

What were they thinking making this movie? Every single aspect of it utterly baffles me.
