I recently watch Autopsy of Jane Doe.

Thought is was a good little low budget horror movie, with the actual autopsy scenes being the standout. Nothing incredibly original, but spooky/fun enough that everyone I watched it with came out enjoying it.

I recommend it, solid 7.5/10.

I also watched Abattoir the other night. Great trailer, FANTASTIC premise, but ultimately mediocre in execution and does nothing interesting with all of the potential that comes from a story about an eccentric man who literally cuts the rooms where horrific murders happened out of haunted houses and stitches them together to make a SUPER HAUNTED HOUSE.

Very disappointing, 6/10. Avoid it.

It's not a good movie.

90% of it is just poor retellings of the plot from both Ringu and Juon.

And the actual "fight" itself is fun, but not enough to justify the rest of the movie being as boring and predictable than it is.

Sadako vs Kayako was pretty poor.

It had great Grudge atmosphere, but the Sadako shit was awful. They just told the actor to do the creepy Sadako walk, so every time she moved it looked like she was autistically dancing.

And them combining into super ghost at the end was just fucking retarded.

Yeah, I agree to a certain extent. They certainly dropped the ball in the last act, as many horror films do, but overall I still enjoyed.

Thanks mostly to the atmosphere and tension set up during the autopsy scenes, as I mentioned before, which is masterclass.

The very last scene ruins it even more for me because you bet your ass there's gonna be sequels.
