What the fuck is that guy saying, and why has one of the main characters had his voice rendered almost inaudible when he has a ton of dialogue

I didn't really get what was happening but it was impressive

i was more confused than anything when i saw it for the first time

people single out this scene as being ridiculous, and it is, but the rest of the movie isn't much better

Big guy for you didn't really register as strange for me. I just thought Bane was saying it because he humbly saw "big guy" as a relative term. He believed that a man can be many things and sizes can be deceptive. He didn't see himself as a "big guy". He saw it as a relative term when in the presence of CIA. Bane believed that there some men who would make Bane himself be a small guy, but they weren't on that plane.

So when I first watched it, I didn't really think about the sequence. Rewatching it (before the memes) it started to make no fucking sense. Post-posting, I can't watch this without laughing hysterically. Like I was irl rewatching this film last week and all memes aside, it's an ok film. Weakest in the trilogy probably. But the opening scene had me fucking dying.

I was thinking Aidan and Tom were the worst actors in capeshit history. Then I began to wonder why the CIA was interrogating them on a plane at all. He fucking opened up the cabin for fuck's sake. That's extremely dangerous. I didn't get the impression that if they didn't get information right that moment that something bad would happen. Fucking stupid movie.

It's a truly terrible scene. Writing, directing, acting. 100% garbage. And it does nothing to further the plot of the movie at all. Some bullshit about a nuclear scientist with information that we barely know matters. There were a number of really bad decisions made when they put together this film and starting with this scene just because they thought it would look cool in the trailer isn't even the worst one, but it set the tone for the rest of them.

They don't really single it out. It was up, in it's entirety, for more than a year before the movie came out. Because nolan/WB thought it was perfect trailer material.

So, considering its only a few minutes long (perfect for the attention span of the memester) and after years of anticipation for nolan's next batman movie considering how great TDK was and how it was utterly awful, in every way, maymays.

The rest of the movie is ridiculous, but not as absurdly concentrated as the trailer, and 2 hours is way outside of the memester's attention span.

They did, actually. If you dig up the original trailer, before tom hardy starts doing a hammy sean connery impersonation, there's less of an intonation of "i'm a big guy for you" and its, like it was supposed to be, "it'll be extremely painful for you."

As they had tom hardy redub the entire movie (in a single take) after negative reactions to banevoice 1.0. And in 2.0, hardy is on record as going maximum ham.

I think originally the banemask was a megaphone, hence the reason banevoice 1.0 was so bad. So they just dubbed it like they did with all the bank robber clowns in TDK.

I saw the original footage -- well, from camrips -- of when it was teased in theaters.

I thought it was great.

Then I saw it in theaters and they had dubbed Bane and it was laughable BECAUSE of the dub. It sounds so out of place.
