I thought it was unoriginal and offensive.

i think it got a lot of negative attention just because of the homosexuality tones. people didn't know how to react to it so instead of seeing it as Borat part 2, it got a different, carefully cultivated treatment.

It's absolutely god tier. Borat and Brüno are his only two good films. His scripted shit isn't funny in the least.

Borat is great, but it does not engender the same type of reactions from people. Brüno is Borat times ten. Everything Borat joked about, Brüno is able to do without the ethnic minority bonus. So he's literally just an obnoxiously vacuous asshole you want to punch to death.
