fuck off.
>>

He does the same in Fury Road and now in Taboo.
>>

>>

>>
>>78971315
GAY
>>
>>78971445

He doesn't do the same in Bronson, Wuthering Heights, Warrior, Legend (though this was still a bit shit), or Stuart: A Life Backwards though, so happy to let him off.
>>
>>78972116
He really does do it Wuthering Heights
>>
*strolls intensively*
>>
>locke is about him talking to people from his car
>it works
>>
>>78972141

Nah, his accent is good (it's hilarious in Peaky Blinders) and any "mhm" moments actually befit the role. If anything he wasn't intense enough, but that's more to do with that adaptation pussyfooting around Heathcliff a little bit.

>no brutal rape scenes
>not brutal dog hanging scene
>>
>>78972234

He has a good eye for small scale films, his blockbuster efforts tend to be shit though, but this is standard no?
>>
>>78972234
The ability to make a 90 minutes of him talking through the phone while in car engaging makes him a 10/10 actor.
>>
>>78972282
>blockbuster efforts tend to be shit though
What is Fury Road?
>>
>>78971315
he seems like a big guy
>>
>>78972314

>blockbuster efforts tend to be shit

Not clear enough for you, anon?
>>
>>78972116
he does it in Warrior to the point where his character comes across as a retard. He mumbles like fuck and it's hilarous. Also does the same in The Revenant
>>
>>78972282
>blockbuster efforts tend to be shit

Inception
The Dark Knight Rises
Mad Max: Fury Road
Dunkirk (will obviously be a huge hit)
>>
>>78971315
Is he more a voice actor / body language expert than actor? Discuss.
>>
>>78972625

Bit part role in Inception so not relevant. DKR was gash. Mad Max was gash. Dunkirk will probably be gash.
>>
concrete
>>
>>78972641
He definitely seems to get a little carried away with accents and voice affectations

I find it endearing personally
>>
>>78971445
>leaving out Peaky Blinders
he invented the mumble for that role
>>
>>78972599

But people in the real world mumble all the time? It's a good film and as with Heathcliff, it befits the role.
>>
>>78972625
Why would you mention Inception and not The Revenant?
>>
>>78972690

Because it's also gash
>>
>>78972599
I'm a fan of Tom Hardy and his mumbles, but he took it way too far in The Revenant. I couldn't understand 90% of what he was saying
>>
>>78972652
Tom Hardy literally stole the show in Inception with his "bit part role". So much so that Nolan's put him in two of his films since in much bigger roles.

Also, forgot about The Revenant. Hardy's one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood right now, dude. It's just a shame that his new tv show Taboo is a pile of shit

great stuff. even used the same intense "u wot m8" stare he uses on everyone else
>>
>>78972748

Nah Taboo is better than the Revenant.
>>
>>78972690
yeah, I forgot about The Revenant. It was a pretty forgettable film imo, but still a big success nonetheless.
>>
>>78972748
>Taboo is a pile of shit
It's fun if you don't think about it too much.
>>
>>78972755

Haha I actually don't mind Taboo but I'm a sucker for that kind of thing in general. He's loving being able to go full "mhm" mode though, you can tell.
>>
>>78972748

I did say "tend to be shit". Leaves room for one or two decent ones so Inception is a good film and my original statement is still correct.
>>
>>78972748
I'm actually quite enjoying Taboo. Could do with less of the half sister incest shit though, I don't find that interesting at all. They also need to hurry up and actually get to Nootka Sound so shit can really kick off.
>>
>>78972746
Because he was playing an accent that is almost impossible to understand

He got a bit carried away with it, but it was honestly one of the better parts of that movie imo.
>>
>>78972599
Wrestlers are usually retards, so makes sense. And American settlers weren't the smarters either I assume.

Anyone seen The Drop, and Stuart: A Life Backwards? Obligatory Hardy-core.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPORwbwkQ4k
>>
>>78972832

Sister scenes are the best part. Constantly getting semis to them
>>
>>78972716
Stop saying gash
>>
>>78972853

Yes, Stuart is fantastic (and also before Benedict Cumberbatch became annoying and Hollywood-ified). The Drop is a really good film too, James Gandolfini's last role no?
>>
>>78972875

Gash
>>
>>78972853
Why do people keep letting him get away with stealing every single scene he's in? Is there anyone out there with the acting ability to body Tom Hardy right out of a scene when he's at his peak?

Come on man, how can you seriously say that? 8 of the films he was in between 2010-2015 (he had no film releases in 2016) were really good, and 4 of those 8 films were big budget blockbusters.
>>
>>78972958
>>78972942
Kind of makes you wonder if he's actually a bit of a mentally unstable cunt in real life
>>
>>78973016
That would be incredible.

It'll never happen however. Even getting DDL is rare enough.
>>
he definately takes it up the butt

i don't watch his flicks anymore since i learned how much he supprts the homo agenda
>>
>>78973051
He isn't, but nice try.
>>
>>78973041

But you keep ignoring the fact that I think the Revenant, Mad Max and TDKR were shit. This Means War was terrible. I don't know why you've ticked off The Drop and Locke, as these were both small scale films.
>>
>>78971315

I'm not kidding, look up most of his scenes. He is legit autistic
>>

Yes

>>78973097
Except all the fucking scenes where he stares straight into the persons eyes in an intimidating way
>>
>>78972116
>He doesn't do the same in Bronson
Yes he does. He definitely does in when he's flexing his arm for a girl and he probably does the same shit before and after that scene too.
>>
>>78973098
I like how his dubious look even in real life is the same as the one he uses in movies.

His real voice after all his roles is so jarring however.
>>
>>78973096
>the Revenant, Mad Max and TDKR were shit.

Well, audiences and critics disagree with you on that. To say that all 3 of those films were "shit" just sounds like contrarianism to me, honestly.

>I don't know why you've ticked off The Drop and Locke, as these were both small scale films.

I did write that 4 of the 8 good films that he's been in the past 5 years were big budget blockbusters. And I ticked the smaller scale films that were good because I thought it was worth noting that he's not just some Hollywood sellout who's only starring in blockbusters because he knows he's in his prime and sought after.

>>
>>78972641
>Is he more a voice actor/body language expert?
So, an actor? That's literally what the best acting entails, especially body language, which is why Daniel Day Lewis steals any role you put him in. Voice acting itself makes you a better actor than damn near all of Hollywood though, so you can forgo body language and perfect your voice and still do great.
>>
>>78972904
Michale Fassbender vsTom Hardy
>>
>>78973293

Who cares about critics? Most people I know who've seen TDKR say it's boring and long. The Revenant was Leo's most desperate attempt at Oscar-bait, God knows what would have happened had he not won. And you're telling me you sat there, watched Fury Road in all of it's hollow grandeur and really enjoyed it? Each to their own.

And I never implied he was a Hollywood sellout. Just that when he does the larger scale films they tend to not be as good as his smaller scale films. I was praising him overall, you moron.
>>
>>78973773

The Witcher 3 was a great game because of the voice acting. Like watching a movie. Made me realise how important it is to an actor to nail that. Where I'm from (England) the soaps are full of terrible actors, and it's all to do with their delivery sounding unnatural and forced. Like you say, you get that on point and you're 75% a good actor.
>>
>>78973773
It's just that you see a clear difference between Hardy and, for example, his butler, in Taboo. One feels like an actor, the other like a real person. Hardy is fascinating to watch, but I never felt like he ever emotes anything real.
>>
>>78973705
holy shit i never knew he was such an effete homosexual. I don't think i will take him seriously as an intimidating character or leading man anymore and neitherwill my peers in my social circle.
>>
>>78973871

Isn't that the point though? In Taboo he's literally playing the role of a guy you're not meant to understand or relate to. Imagine Long John Silver turning up at a local bar you're in and how mental that would seem.
>>
>>78973705
lol what a homo
>>
>>78973988

If you want Autistic intense Hardy then go for the Drop.
If you want mongoloid but amusing intense Hardy then go for Stuart.
Don't watch Phillips.

No, it was a great game and one of the things that made it great was the voice acting, but the best thing about it was the writing and the player's freedom in the game's world.

>>
>>78973871
That's how the role's meant to be played. Realism vs Theater is very apparent, and any half decent actor should be able to do both. Theater was meant solely for the stage, which allows large audiences of different seeing/hearing ability to be able to make out the performance. Turns out a lot of directors like using that to show either eccentricity or to make odd statements about the character or mental well-being of what you're seeing on-screen. If Hardy gives you theater, it's what the director asked of him.
