I had over 2k VHS tapes (80s and 90s era) I threw away about 5 years ago. They no longer worked properly and the tape itself was growing some sort of pale grey dust.

The only ones really worth having imo are some of the weird japanese versions with different cuts in some cases. Ive come across a few versions of some old 80's films that have asian subtitles that are different to NTSC/PAL versions. The box art was often different as well. I suppose if you really like that aspect to them, some are worth having. Lots of the european versions had different covers as well.

Why the fuck would you ever want to use VHS?

Remember once hearing the sound of a VHS tape rented from my local video store getting fucking torn up and wrangled inside one of the old VHS players when I was younger.

Tried to pull it out and just watched all the film tearing in front of my eyes as it came off the reels.
