Just wee bits of it, Sickboy owns his aunts pub, Renton moves to Amsterdam and Begbie gets out of jail. Apart from that it's mostly original.

I really enjoyed it. As a complete nostalgiafag who reminisces a lot about the 90s, it really hit home in a lot of ways. It doesn't pack the same sickening punch as the first film, but it's still really well done.

Trainspotting 2 is not focused on the audience that never saw the original one on 1996, is a film that is focused on the people who watched the first one when they were young.

Is a film that when you watch it you feel that is somehow showing your own life because it's main theme is aging, is how things never change and others does, how you can go back to the times when you were young and how at this point of your life doing that is being, as Sickboy said, a tourist in your youth.

There is more development on everyone and the movie spend like half of it looking back at the lifes of everyone in the original cast, then it moves on with the plot where Sickboy is still inside the scamming shit, Renton tries to help Spud and Sick boy and Begbie even more dangerous and crazy.

This is not a new whole Trainspotting, this is the continuation of the memories from 1996 and if you were young when you watch it for the first time, then this is going to get you back to those days in the best way possible.

shitty. pro-tip: don't live next to a football stadium. guy across from me i'm pretty sure is a dealer. woman upstairs plays just dance from 2am-4am thursday nights. i disturbed a guy in the street wanking onto a ground floor window from the outside. a few years ago the fire brigade were called 3 times in as many hours to the same place, the last visit one of the guys took a door with him back on the fire engine. make of that what you will. we had scaffolding up and the polis were after a guy in a flat for a shooting or something i can't remember so the guy climbed out the window up the scaffold up onto the roof. road closed and everyone locked down until about 7 or 8 when he came down for a smoke. last place i stayed bathroom had no lock and i was sharing with a guy who was in a kind of christian cult. before that i stayed in a house where all the traffic llights had metal grilles on them to stop neds smashing them. they were all smashed anyway. for entertainment kids would try and run over a car by jumping on the bonnet then up over the roof (while parked they weren't insane) and see how many before someone gave them a chasey. its never dull.

saw it in ediburgh on sunday, if you like the original, you'll probably enjoy it. I feel like only scottish people can get the maximum enjoyment out of it though.

Seen it Sunday in the 'deen, which is a shame cos I wanted to see it in Edina.

Thought it was so-so. Begbie was a cool cunt. Cringed like fuck at Renton's "Choose Life" monologue. Especially the "choose misogyny, choose slut shaming" garbage. As if a working class boy from Edina would speak such rubbish.

Also a bit put out at the H1b5 gear being shoehorned into every scene. I know Welsh is one of the puddle-drinkers but the number of hobbit shirts and scarves just liking about in various scenes takes the piss.

Bit too tryhard for my tastes. Didn't quite live up to expectations on the first watch.

Absolutely pished myself at the loyalist bar scene though.

Very unusual for members of the so-called "trainspotting generation" to make it to that age, at least not with their minds intact.

It is very romantic. Story of their first hit as told in the film is fucking silly as well. They buy their first hit of skag along with a needle and shoot it up instead of smoking or snorting it as all aspiring junkies do to begin with.
