What is /tv/'s opinion on Guy Ritchie?
He peaked with Snatch, and that was seventeen years ago.

Makes fun movies

I liked Rock'n'Rolla but besides his britbong crime memery he made a lot of trash
>>78919099
>a lot of trash
he didn't even make that many movies to begin with
and most of them are fun
but yeah, the bong crime memes defo stand out as the best ones
>>78919148
Yeah I probably should have phrased that differently and said that everything besides britbong crime is shit instead of implying he made a lot of movies
A bigger hack than Darren Aronofsky
Is anybody else unironically exited for this?
>>78919276
I am, but semi-ironically, because I expect the worst garbage, but I'm still very very curious about it.
>>78919276
No, seems like trash and everything you hear about production issues makes me expect even less of it
He was my favorite of the many, many Tarantino impersonators that emerged after Pulp Fiction but I don't think he's a remarkable filmmaker in any way.

A little bit up and down, his work ranges from awesome, to decent enough. At least this is bakable though as you know you're going to get a decent little action film at worse but potentially something really good. his films don't try to be that deep because he sets them up as entertainment not somethiong trying to change your opinions on things or anything like that. Another up and down director Ron Howard will make an amazing film one minute and absolute drivel the next so at least you have a mark of a certain level of quality with a Guy Richie film.
