The absolute definition of a pointless film.
Even aside from the fact it has no reason to exist, the storyjust leaves the characters exactly where they were when they started.
The worst thing is it wasn't actually that bad. Just completely mediocre.

Boyle was done as a filmmaker years ago. Proof: Trance.
He should have retired after Sunshine.
Oh yeah, it also felt like it was trying way too hard to be cool, whereas the first Trainspotting did it effortlessly.
Where it tried to do the "choose life" monologue again it was fucking embarrassing.

i thought it was good. i think it'll stoke well with people who are the same age as the characters and saw the original back in the day. i'm 20 now so I can relate to T1 better but maybe in the future i'll look back on T2 and think fondly of it.
It's a great love letter to the first film, I thought it was really good.
Spud was good. The rest tried too hard.
Pretty fuckin' good desu.

I enjoyed it, but the film had its problems, there didn't seem to be a satisfying story reason to include Diane in the film. Her part went nowhere in the main story, I thought Sickboys black mail trial might have led to them not getting the money they wanted from the government and she'd be needed to act as their lawyer, but nothing. Came off as if all they wanted to do was make another cameo appearance of someone from the first movie.
What annoyed me more was the scene where they take Heroin again after being clean for ~20 years, then have no repercussions. I mean what with the first film going on about how hard it was to kick it and all the damage it does, to then have them shoot up then go clubbing the same night perfectly fine made it seem really lackluster

I thought Begbie was good, the part where he's reminiscing all of the bad shit he done that Spud wrote down was a great scene all the right levels of tense.
>Begbie is still a complete caricature
