The important thing to remember is NEVER use milk with alcohol. It doesn't have enough fat content in it, and it will just curdle.
Half & Half will work in a pinch, but you really need heavy or whole cream (delicious in coffee, so you should always have a fresh-ish carton in the fridge), but If you try to use non dairy creamer you should just kill yourself. Add the liqueur then the vodka, or a nice rum is a good alternative.
Generally speaking though you don't mix dairy and alcohol often.
