Why was he depicted as a villain?

Oh, that's right - the BBC is an ultra-leftist propaganda machine trying to enforce the narrative that the traditional family, discipline and self-restraint is a bad thing.

The character of The Doctor is the typical example of this - a rogue and a rebel, entangled in his own vice. Why is he a role model for children?

Ood are psychic, and in End of Time part 1 it was established that they could call to the Doctor through Time.
It was probably a mental projection of an actual Ood who was there to help through the regeneration. So I'd say it was both a hallucination and real.
Of course, it isn't fully explained, but I think regeneration should have something mysterious and supernatural about it. Same reason I love the Watcher.

Purchased the first volume (Only the Monstrous) of the War Doctor's Big Finish series. Although it's not the most magical experience of all time, Hurt is a fantastic Doctor that manages to bring his own bravado and charisma to the role while still being true to the Doctor. This Doctor is worn, tired, and cranky and I love every minute of it. Only issue is that these things are fucking expensive and because I didn't buy the bundle I'm now going to have purchase the rest individually.

Two main variants

but there were subtle permutations
>trenchcoat on/off

I'm fairly certain there's an episode where he has a tshirt underneath the shirt and he wasn't wearing a tie

Dark colours overall
Roughly knee-length coat
Either a formal shirt with top button done up, or a dark hoodie
Loake boots
>>
>>78825168
12 has a signature look
>crombie/frock coat
>hoodie and/or cardigan
>fully buttoned up shirt with no tie (or a t-shirt)

The only difference is that the colors of everything change - but there's still a distinct silhouette that defines 12

You've got a really arbitrary guide to define what a "style" is which seems to be based on superficial things like color or fabric rather than the actual shape and design of the clothing

Firstly, love Eight's look in NOTD. Also, I think part of the reason why it turned out so good was because it was short. Of course I wanted a full episode devoted to this, but the fact the entire thing was less than 10 minutes forces Moffat to write concisely and to boil his story down to the essentials which plays to his strengths.

Second reason, the Eight Doctor is an absolutely fantastic character. He's charismatic, romantic, confident, open, adventurous, and most of all heroic. Also his wit and sense of priorities mesh well together.
>Cass: Where are we going?
>Doctor: Back to the ship.
>Cass: Why?
>Doctor: Because the front crashes first, think it through.

>Doctor: Am I back on Karn? You're the sisterhood of Karn, keepers of the flame...of utter boredom.
>Sister: Eternal life.
>Doctor: That's the one.
I'd argue that out of all the Doctor's incarnations he'd be the swashbuckler out of the bunch.

The site has gone further right in later years, why is anyone's guess. /who/ has been around since 2013 and doctor who threads have been a pretty regular thing since at least 2008 when I first started lurking the site as a whole. The only values i've ever known 4chan to have consistently are "for the lulz" which at time we have spades here as well as a streak of "contrarianism" and you'll find that here in the consensus that Tennant was a shit doctor. Also you can enjoy something that don't personally align with one's views. It's a kids show that we all hate as much as we love, because we're true fans.

Tennant himself chose his Doctor suit as he already had a very clear idea of how his Doctor was supposed to be.

Basically he wanted a clean, formal suit but all wrinkled up as if he had been using it to sleep, and the Converse sneakers were also his idea as he was always running and jumping over things.

Basically, Tennant made an iconic costume out of the same shit you have in your closet. Only Eccleson's costume can match this shit.

Nice counting letters, trips for a trip.
Good tripfriends and some anons get them whether they want/like them or not. You're a pretty swell poster and it's one of the few ways my autism can think of to show our(me and the better half's) admiration. Hope it's not too offensive personally.

Conundrum: delightful.
One thing I complained about in The Left-Handed Hummingbird was the interesting, but seemingly pointless changes in style. Here, the style is also experimental for a Doctor Who novel, but for a very good reason, which I can't explain without spoiling the big twist. Suffice it to say, style and substance merge seamlessly into each other.
Even though I already knew about the twis in question, I enjoyed the story: it's clever and packed with distinctive characters.
The book also finds the time to deal with Ace and Benny's increasing distrust for each other and for the Doctor. This seemed a bit forced in one or two of the previous books - especially in Ace's case -, but Lyons takes pains to dig out the characters' motivations, and it's good to see them finally starting to come to grips with each other.
In the midst of all this, Conundrum also manages to have a lot of amusing moments (it takes the piss out of some popular stories, out of the NAs, and in a couple of occasion even out of itself) without ever detracting from the serious side of the story so much that it gets silly (unlike The Highest Science).
All things considered, maybe it isn't a perfect book - don't expect thematic depth or great explorations of character (although, as I said, the characterization is well above average) - but it takes a very good idea and develops it with intelligence and skill, and that's no simple achievement. 9/10.

The general public prefer by the book episodes to experimental ones.

Whithouse most likely. They're filming Block 6 at the moment (Episode 8 and 10) - I have a feeling it might be something to do with the Minister of War...?

Matthew does his best here, but again Liv drags everything down, she offers no constructive criticism or insight into what did or did'nt make sense to her.

Pretty sure the fan show meant that one episode was written by Moffat and the other by Harness, not two co-writes.

John Hurt's Doctor is an absolute G. His Big Finish audio adventures while expensive as all hell are great representations of what this separated this Doctor from his predescessors and successors. This isn't a Doctor that basks in his own ego, this isn't a Doctor that wants to be thanked, this is a man on a mission and he is willing to do just about anything to achieve it. Also cantankerous Doctors are my favorite type of Doctor (1, 6, War, and 12).

All the worry over Nardole was never really founded on anything. Everyone just assumed he'd be annoying comic relief, which he never really was.
If it turns out he was brought back as some kind of way bring back River I will throw a brick.
