Perhaps it was humorous, but know this: you have not redeemed the series. What was this moment but nothing more than a brief moment of unintentional levity in an adaption of one of the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises? Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.

memes aside I think this is by far the worst part in the movie for me
revealing his face adds nothing to story, it just makes it akward and stupid, I heard people laughing when this happened in the cinema

That probably has to do with the angle. In film, we have different kinds of shots, close, middle and wide. What you see here is a wide shot.
Another thing it does is making the angle of the camera look down on the characters. This usually is used to imply that the characters on screen are supposed to feel small. These two techniques combined makes the characters look really small.

Got dragged to the cinema to watch it with a friend, not a big fan of super hero movies but he sat through my mad max fetish, so it was payback I guess.

This scene, the sudden snap zoom, everything just looked so bad at one precise moment, I couldn't help but let out a big sudden laugh, I stopped myself right after, but the look he gave me, like he couldn't get why I was laughing, to him, this was serious kino.

To me it just looked fucking cheap and shit.

I recommend the movie if you haven't seen it, it's great. But everything about this scene is a disaster, and it just comes off as comedic.

The sound editing does for me, the guy has multiple voice tracks running at the same time, mismatching lip-sync and even just loops the same sentence.

This. He should have already been dead. The reason why revealed at in the confontation of Leia with Kylo (same scene but Leia instead of Han). In this timeline, Kylo went to the dark side when he kills Han and now Leia is trying to forgive him, but ends up getting shanked, truly freeing Kylo of his past (instead of Han, which still leaves Leia, who is in a dead end now given Fischers death). They really should have tried to cut ties with the old cast as fast as possible, leaving Luke until the final episode of this trilogy, where he comes back to take down Snoke, who turns out to be a reincarnation of Anakin, done by Luke who thought he could bend the force to bring back the dead, which explains his isolation better as he can stand the thought of what he did. So he comes back and destroys his creation, and maybe they're tied together (some force rule or something), so he dies when Snoke dies. This way they can call this episode The Last Jedi, and not have it end up being too cheesy.
