None are as good as kat. None have the same reliable uploaders and comments. None have as good a tracker. None have such a vast selection of kino. Private trackers require you to constantly popular files you don't want just so you can keep uploading ratio up to snuff, AND they also fall short in the categories I've stated above.

>get a letter from a copyright troll telling I downloaded some porn and they want hundreds or they'll take me to court
mfw, went straight in the trash and I haven't heard anything since, this was a year ago.

Also switched ISPs because those retards gave my address to them without even needing a court order

>>77345408
So I don't trust it, you should only go with the tried and true. KAT was only ever good because it was around for years, this nu-KAT is being advertised everywhere and only has like 2 people from the old site, it's obviously a trap of some kind.
>>
>>77345324
I did it for over a decade, and only got a letter earlier this year. I did get a VPN though, just to be safe. Plus it helps me get by those stupid things where you have to wait between downloads on DDLs.
>>
>>77345450
>a trap of some kind
You do understand that your IP was public when you downloaded from old KAT website?
>>
>>77345450
>Also switched ISPs because those retards gave my address to them without even needing a court order
Oh and I should mention when I phoned my ISP to verify the letter they also denied ever giving my address out, even though their own website said that they did. Literal idiots.

>>77345484
Old KAT wasn't run by copyright trolls though so I didn't care, more than likely this nu-KAT is logging everything though so I won't go near it.
>>
>>77345512
Copyright trolls do not have to run anything to log downloads.
>>
>>77345558
I know that, but it helps.

Most of the time copyright cases go nowhere because a single bit of evidence showing an IP joining a swarm isn't enough, but if they have logs showing you browsing the site and choosing the torrent etc it'll help their case a lot. I'd rather not give them the chance to gather that evidence.
>>
>>77345324
>getting caught in the first place

you are officially housewife-tier retarded
>>
>>77345614
Your paranoia is completely unfounded.
>>
>>77345450

It's run by the old staff. What are you even talking about? They did it without the owner.
>>
>>77345620
What if getting caught was part of his plan?
>>
>>77345614
You are so weird for being this scared. Nobody except women and children are this scared of those notices.
>>
>>77345673
Whatever, my point is that people shouldn't trust these nu-KAT clones, I mean this is like the third so far?

Anyway, if you have a choice between something you've used for years and know is safe, and something new and unknown, it's pretty obvious what you'd go for.
>>
>>77345450
>nu-KAT is being advertised everywhere

where? This is literally the first I've heard of it
>>
>>77345614
>but if they have logs showing you browsing the site and choosing the torrent etc it'll help their case a lot

This never happens and even if they had that they couldn't sift through the literally millions of people who do. An IP means nothing no matter what since courts have ruled that an IP is not a person.
>>
So apparently copyright trolls run nu-KAT so they can get less than 1% of pirates while other keep getting away with it?
>>
It doesn't matter who owns the site. The feds can track anyone downloading the torrent anyways.

What the other anon said, distributed hash table, lets you find peers for torrents without needing a central tracker
There's a lot of sites that index the DHT too, such as btdigg, pretty sure there's apps you can use that can search the DHT without even needing to use a website too.

I've used tons of private trackers and they don't do shit even after years of it.
Some of them will even record in your history that you downloaded the file, but your ratio still doesn't add up.

Part of the reason is probably because people reseed files they got from other trackers, it's perfectly fair game to add a torrent you already have in order to just seed it.
This would show up like you downloaded the file but didn't leech it just the same.

Even by disregarding the shill argument, it's still pretty simple. KAT is BIG. It's prominent enough that even casual mainstream audience knows about it and use it. Throw in the fact that current society is all about prioritising spreading the news as fast as you can instead of fact-checking, it's not hard to imagine that that it got popular so quickly. I mean hell, just look at /tv/: there are a lot of people who were genuinely lost and don't know of any other public trackers when KAT went down.

social media is condensed and streamlined now. it's all about sharing. it's really not that strange especially when it's something as popular as free movies/games/apps/music.
>>
>>77347105
You're performing a sizable amounts of mental gymnastics to make sense of people reporting on a story where a site that the US copyright machine made a huge deal about taking down is back up with the original staff.

You've said it yourself a huge number of times. No one worth prosecuting is going to jump onto it. Even if it was a piracy honeypot with a sizable marketing budget (the absurdity of this we'll ignore for a moment), who the fuck they going to catch?
>>
>>77347040
What childporn site? I need to know so I can make sure I don't accidentally go there.
>>
>>77347172
>who the fuck they going to catch?
You're right, nobody cares about downloaders, which is why you never see those DHT indexing sites being taken down.

Uploaders on the other hand? Well I wonder what the best way to catch them would be..
>>
>>77347116
Uploaders as in the people who originally encode the files, you special needs child.

Also any modern torrent client (read: not utorrent) allows you to zero out your uploading.
>>
>>77347192
I love it when the paranoid and self-assured just ignore any part of the argument they can't twist to their narrative.

KAT is the normie tracker. No normies in scene groups. So even if it is a honeypot, it doesn't matter to you or anyone.
>>
>>77347134
True, but I'd think that most people already have a tracker they use, so why are people caring so much about this one?

Maybe it's because they recognize KAT I suppose, but none of the other KAT clones got this much attention, which is what makes this one strange to me.

Could just be normies being normies I suppose, but at the end of the day this KAT clone is still shitty compared to the others, so I dunno why anyone bothers with it really
>>
>>77343032
Sent ;)
>>
>>77347233
Normies aren't the ones uploading though, and usually the ones uploading aren't just uploading one file, they're uploading dozens, hundreds maybe.

Setting up a fake tracker to catch them isn't exactly a 'paranoid conspiracy theory' as the shills say, it's something anyone could do for less than $200

And uploaders aren't?

If they have a chance to prosecute they'll take it, they aren't going to say "oh he wasn't the one who copied it from the disc, we'll leave him alone", they're going to say "User xyz logged into our KATcr.co site at 3:14 PM, he then clicked on the 'upload torrent' section and uploaded the offending torrent file, we recorded 5000+ downloads on that file and estimate he caused $2,000,000 dollars in damages"

The depth and breadth of your ignorance of this subject is utterly astounding.

ripping/leaking: federal offense

We've gone over this a hundred times. In this thread. With you. are you really just getting off on the attention?
>>
>>77347449
I'd stick with TPB, this new KAT has a ton of security holes according to /g/, and most of the people ITT claim it's a honeypot.

You won't be missing anything, TPB has everything new KAT has plus more.

>>77347508
Agreed, but so far this new KAT doesn't seem anywhere near as good as the old one, you're better off using TPB with an adblocker IMO (and maybe custom adblock rules for those faggot on-click popups)

Maybe it'll eventually have everything old KAT has, or maybe it'll die in a month, it's hard to tell.
>>
>>77347553
Factually incorrect, after all it all depends on where you are.

Here in the UK for example someone was sent to prison for a year just for uploading Top 40 songs to TPB, retarded I know, but it's not exactly a 'conspiracy theory' to say that uploaders are at risk.

You can argue for the sake of arguing as much as you like, the fact remains that any serious uploaders should stay away from it.

There's a script you have to block as well, they change the URL every few weeks though so it gets annoying to block it.

DDL was fast and untraceable, only downside is needing to pay for premium accounts, but these days there's so many DDL sites around and so much competition some of them don't even limit anything for free downloads

It was better than torrents IMO, but of course usenet was the king, at least until people stopped uploading there and it filled with viruses

I wish piracy didn't stop evolving though, it went from usenet -> P2P -> DDL -> torrents and never went further, you'd think that we'd have untrackable can't-be-shut-down methods by now

SIG is the best, has most of the new shit, it's a private community (lurk on g or check private torrent forums for invites), rar files are always password-protected and renamed, files get reuploaded if taken down.
SMz also a private community, the KG of DDL for kino lovers
w-bb is the big website everything know, forum where anybody can post so it's huge af and often messy, has a lot of trashy content and dead links, uploads on scummy websites with speed limits for free acounts, etc. but can be useful for shit you don't find elsewhere. I sometimes use it for apps.
tuserie and tumovie are public blogs, updated everyday and complete databases with both SD and HD options but annoying to use since you need to click through a couple of ads links to get the dl links
pcgames-download is great for... PC games. All clean scene releases.
Those are the main resources I know of, any other DDL user can complete it if they know better?

2ddl is a good public TV/movie site, sometimes they're fast as fuck too, I've seen 720p rips uploaded less than 30 mins after the show airs, 1080p usually appears a couple hours later
They use multiup too which uploads to 1fichier/openload/mega/etc, so no need for premium BS
