Everyone else in my generation (I was born in 86) seems to love Tarantino and Lynch. I hate them both. The former has only made one good film in my opinion and that is Pulp Fiction. The latter has only made one film that I enjoy and it's The Elephant Man. I didn't even particularly like Twin Peaks.
Does that make more or less of a pleb?
It makes you a tryhard contrarian.
I'm currently in film school and everybody's favorite director is either Nolan or Tarantino, that or they don't watch movies which weird. We watched Blue Velvet in class and everybody hated it.
can't force yourself to like something, holmes.
who are you favorite directors
>>64710695
>not liking Dune
What's your excuse?
>>64710779
So I should pretend to like them then in order not to be a tryhard contrarian?
If I were truly a tryhard contrarian, being different just for the sake of it, then I'd join you guys in suddenly praising the Star Wars prequels.

I'm not sure I have a favorite director. All of them have shit under their belt, as it were. I suppose Milos Forman is up there though. As is Darren Aronofssky.

Blue Velvet is dated.
Mulholland and Eraserhead are lynch's best
>>64710957
Shakespeare?

Blue Velvet isn't dated.
Inland Empire is also one of his best.

I would rather have DUDE LSDMAO jodorosky Dune to be quite honest fem.
>>64710801
>everybody's favorite director is either Nolan or Tarantino
fucking idiots
>>64710695
>I didn't like something so it's bad
Oh anon... XD
Maybe surrealism isn't your thing, OP. I hate Tarantino, but I know why people like him. I like lynch a lot.
Do you like Buñuel? If you don't you probably just aren't a fan of this style (dream) narrative.
It means you have your own tastes, and that's fine. As long as you know that you really just don't like them and aren't saying that to be a contrarian, which it doesn't seem like you are

I was more into Cronenberg, Carpenter and early Jackson, most people loved Kubrick, he seemed to be the most cited director in class.
Who was your favourite?
