For me this was the biggest disappointment. Not even those 3rd rate cgi films by studios you never heard of has character design so dull and generic and the animation wasn't that great either.

The design is a minor issue.
The major one is the main character, who is just irritating as fuck. You can have a clumsy character, but Arlo is just a whiner.
Other characters, besides the human boy, are just forced into the story and don't bring anything significant.
Besides visuals and that one beautiful scene at the river (funerals) it was very generic movie.

Only people who have seen the film know this. People arent bothering to even go see it. I havent seen it and its mainly because of the look of the dinosaur.

The time of year it came out didn't help. Normally it would come out during the summer or over Christmas vacation so you have kids out of school. They couldn't do that with Star Wars.
