Is 24 old to get into filmmaking?
>>64700670
you're never too old to follow your dreams anon
>>64700670
No. If you have talent it doesn't matter what your age is. Ridley Scott was in his 30's as were many other filmmakers.
>>64700670
yes. at this point you probably should just get a job as a ditch digger.

he was almost 40 when The Duellists was released
If you're not in your chosen career at 24 you never will be.
>>64700934
This. Its all about finacing your own projects. Young "auteurs" hardly exist anyway

My biggest fear is having a moon face like that. She has it by default since she doesn't seem to be fat.
Man I don't know how I would deal with that.

are you a qt grill?
>>64700670
tarantino made Reservoir Dogs at 29
You're okay pal
The primer guy was like 31 when he made it.
Yeah it's too old man, your hamstrings might give out or something. Frankly it's dangerous to even try. Leave filmmaking to all those 19 year olds who are churning out oscar bait, grandpa. You won't be able to keep up.

Primer guy was a fluke though.
Same with that guy who made, and only made Boondock Saints (and the second one)
>>64700670
No. If you didn't have a job at a major studio getting coffee to people by 21 then you might as well kill yourself.
>>64700670
No. You need to get much older to be able to make a good movie anyway.
>>64702185
This. If you're under 35 and directing a movie I hope you're using someone else's screenplay, because I promise you have nothing of worth to say.

Yes Scott was in his 40's when he released his debut but it's because he spent the prior two decades in the industry working shit jobs on sets and learning firsthand how movies get made.
I wouldn't say it's not happening because you're 24, I would say it's not happening because you're 24 and shit posting on 4chan. The funniest shit about the internet is it's filled with people who think they can get something done because they've seen Pulp Fiction 400 times but the truth is you'd learn more sitting in an abandoned house all day with a shitty camera and some lighting equipment.

I thought primer and upstream color were good.
>>64702341
Tarantino didn't go to film sets, he went to films, and he turned out just okay.
>>64702341
Ridley directed adverts and British tv shows in the late 60s and 70s
>>64702436
Yeah him
Not you
>>64702122
>Primer guy was a fluke though
Nah. Upstream Color was better in every conceivable way.
