Going to that spot would mean he could not make another mistake and likely death.

If he jumped near the lava, it would be effortless for obi to force push him in. Earlier they blasted each other away, but he isn't going to be able to defend that while jumping. So he had to at least jump further into land.

Maybe if you're a fucking retard who does not remember that one of established Force powers is absorbing or redirecting energy, from blaster bolts to Force lighthing. Both fighters only survived that close to lava because they were shielding themselves all the time, when Anakin's grip on the Force starts slipping because of wounds, convection starts to doing its work normally on him.
