Will YouTubers ever be taken seriously as filmmakers?

>Not liking YouTube Movies
I truly enjoy the new media, they are much better than movies now and days. These guys actually put time into there work.
No. They're all cash grabs.
When they learn the value of adequate lighting, meaningful cinematography, decent recording equipment and a good screenplay.
But at that point they will actually be making films so whatever.

Some. Certainly not vloggers and let's players.
I remember in the earlier days of Youtube there was this zombie comedy show I used to watch on there. It was fun and good. I don't really do the youtube but you don't really hear about stuff like that being made any more, it all just seems to be "attractive person talks at the camera about gender issues with smashcuts and shitty comedy bits for no reason".

who?

Yeah, sounds about right. And now they're all writing shitty books for some reason.

This is true, and it fucking sucks. It's easier to get recognition on YouTube, but people actually make shit on Vimeo, like >>61785025 said.

>Tfw wasted so much time making comedy skits during college instead of pulling the resources together to make a feature project.
