Oh God, what happened
>Anita's handler calls Avengers 2 sexist
>Joss deletes his twitter
>want to make a fun stupid blockbuster
>/tv/ hates it because capeshit
>reddit hates it because not as fun as the first
>tumblr and SJW's hate it because not enough feminist pandering
Being Joss is suffering
You never try pandering to the Tumblr-crowd. At least with other fandoms you can please the majority of the fans. With Tumblr you either never go far enough or it is nitpicked to death.
as funny as this is we didn't really do anything
the radfems are just doing what they do best and tearing each other apart. bravo joss decided to try and get in with the cult and how he's paying the price
maybe more people will realize now that this is why you should just ignore insane twitter harpies instead of trying to ingratiate yourself with them
All those… moments… will be lost in time, like... tears… in… rain.
I was debating whether or not I should, but I don't have a problem with Joss. I should be celebrating that his ego was finally deflated but I dunno I feel bad. Not that he cares, but still something feels strange when he calls himself a feminist, they celebrate it, but then they turn their backs on Joss because they are assblasted to the max because a fictional character doesn't adhere to their ideals.
everyone's faves are becoming problematic now. soon there won't be a non-problematic person left in the industry, and if everybody is problematic then effectively nobody is problematic
is avengers 2 secretly the savior of film?
>finished off his capeshit obligations
>no more need to pander to these sjw turbo faggots
i-is he the hero we deserve?
Feminism is a big shit test women do to test your fitness and if you succumb you're weak and pathetic and will be punished more, because they don't want to be pleased. They enjoy to feel dominated and oppressed, it's their sexual nature.
is this seriously in the movie? what a pile of shit
He was a slave to the system. A man with a conscience who wanted to break free but couldn't since the Devil had a contract on his head.
So he went through hell. He did questionable things. Terrible things. His conscience suffering all the while. And yet he would not break. No matter what he did, he vowed that one day he would return to the one true way.
Now, he is free.
But can he truly find redemption? Though he had a gun held to his head, can he atone for the crimes he has committed?
Only time will tell. But one thing is certain.
He's free now.
The saddest thing is instead of standing by his work, he's going to go on a groveling apology tour and demasculate himself to please the minority.
Not even dumb, mindless actions films are a safe haven from this horseshit
Do people really think this is /pol/ or SJW related?
The guy has made it pretty clear he hates where his career is. Filming Avengers 2 was miserable and Marvel meddled with everything. He's becoming increasingly adventurous in bad mouthing Marvel and Disney in interviews and twitter and obviously has no desire to be a public figure and make shitty blockbusters anymore. Now a lot of his own fans are turning on him and even "nerd" critics are giving his movie mediocre reviews for all of the stuff that Marvel forced on him (too convoluted, too many characters, pointless plot, no stakes, comic relief villain, etc.). Dropping off is the smartest thing to do now cause it's only gonna get worse
He's a shit director if he let a corporation take control of his films.
Look at Woody Allen, an extremely beta male but still managed to make it clear they were his creations and that he was going to do it his own way. And he convinced them based on his talent alone.
The cuck is probably hunched in a corner crying RIGHT NOW
>search joss whedon
>end up on the mary sue
>read link realated
They think there is a difference between race-bending and white washing
He hung out with Anita Skarkeesian or whatever her name is. So the video game journalist justice warriors were mad at him. /pol/ was mad at him because jews, hollywood, feminism, etc. He made a lot of political tweets about feminism and being against sexist tropes. Then he saw the paycheck from Marvel and was told to toe the corporate line so his movie with his name on it contained sexist tropes. Then SJWs do what they always do and berated him for it. He deleted his twitter in shame.
Without forcing myself to read tumblr, I'm going to assume it was Black Widow. She was written as a love interest and had no real big part in the movie other than something for Banner to brood over. Also her big fear and romantic hangup in the movie was that the elite Russian spy school she attended made her sterile as a kid. So her biggest regret and all that is that she can't have kids. She compared herself to Hulk in the movie because of this. A woman who can't have kids is just as bad as a guy who can barely control turning into a giant green monster that hurts and kills people.
>and if everybody is problematic then effectively nobody is problematic
people hate 'traitors' more than enemies
SJW look for things to be offended by in the same manner conspiracy theorists look for triangles and word patterns in newspapers, they'll find it, whether it exists or not.
Even if they could find nothing 'problematic' in his work, he's a rich white CIS male, that enough would cause them to turn on him eventually.
That's what they normally do, remember that the movement is predominantly women. The second someone says or does something "wrong" in their community all of their "friends" jump down their throat about it to try and appear better in comparison.
I like capeshit. It's an escape.
I just think these movies cost way too much for what they actually accomplish. I can never see the difference between a high budget film of $60 million and $200 million. I think that the extra $140 million is just wasted garnish.
apparently this is the thing that made him quit twitter?
> Then he saw the paycheck from Marvel and was told to toe the corporate line so his movie with his name on it contained sexist tropes.
You really think Marvel HQ called him up and said "love the script babe, but could you put more sexism in it?"
>Coming this Summer "Problematic Faves", the buddy cop sensation sweeping the nation.
Someone fund this shit
1) There a lazy execs that believe that tweets and social media mean something in the real word, instead of being a few people in computers, trolling and shilling.
2) There's a generation that believes that what they see in internet is reality.
Social media is the new opium of the masses.
>obsessively check rotten tomatoes
Holy shit, the goyim know!
No they told him to make sure Cap, Iron Man, and Thor were the center. They told him to give Renner more screentime as this was his last one. So Joss did the best he could which was making BW a love interest and failed babby maker.
I'm not saying there's some conspiracy to add sexism, just that he couldn't make Avengers: Age of Black Widow because he would have been fired. Plus he's leaving the franchise anyway. Expect a tell-all blog post or book about how he fought the evil corporate sexists and lost.
>You really think Marvel HQ called him up and said "love the script babe, but could you put more sexism in it?"
No, they called and said "love the script babe, but could you put these elements that our research says will bring in more dosh? You really can't do anything because we're the execs. Love you, bye!"
Exec meddling can be really stupid. Look at the hobbit trilogy, especially the 2nd and 3rd movie.
It's amusing how /tv/ is pretending the criticisms about BW aren't 100% accurate.
Joss has painted himself as a feminist for 20 some-odd years. That's why he's getting shit (other than it being a crap film in general).
The worst mistake he made was associating himself with the internet feminist and tumblr crowd. Nothing's good enough for them
I almost feel sorry for him
>mfw his last tweet was something about nigger Annie to piss Marvel execs off and now he is gone
>our generation is fucked
It's not acting like male characters, female characters just have no role other than love interest, damsel in distress and baby maker.
I hate it too, not cause I'm a SJW but because it's lazy as fuck writing and all of those roles are played out and formulaic at this point.
I'm not some tumblrite or anything but when Black Widow says she's sterile and then says 'i'm a monster like you' I was like... WHOA
The Hobbit Trilogy's reshoots were all Peter Jackson's idea. Literally what the fuck are you talking about. New Line had nothing to do with the love triangle being shoehorned in. Nor Alfrid being a character.
Time for you to re-evaluate your love of Joss Whedon.
What? I wasn't defending him. He is shit in writing, especially putting too many shitty quips, but it's obvious that Avengers 2 had lots of exec meddling. Basically it's a mix of the execs and Whedon.
I... I don't know what your image is suppose to convey...
How is saying the studio made him do it not a defense?
Look at Disney's recent successes at the BO. It's nearly all shit with at least a nod to the female crowd. If you think the called Whedon up and said add more sexism to the script, you're a fucking idiot.
By the way, that sort of crap is prevalent in Whedon's work. To a greater degree in most cases. There is no doubt in my mind it was him. If you know his work, it's textbook for him.
If there is supposedly so much sexism in real life, why shouldn't it be in movies reflecting real life? (not really talking about capeshit). Its omission would thus make the films less realistic
>why is it so wrong for some of the avengers to want kids?
Good point. I think some people are just offended because Widow equated not being able to have babies as a monster. I understand where she's coming from if she values having kids, and radfems/tumblr are shutting up female opinions that they don't like again.
But I think AoU did have a shitty Black Widow because her subplot was about a forced romance. The movie was too in your face with the romance subplot. If they toned it down, say BW and Banner got close because they had sincere conversations after getting mind hexed by Wanda, with Banner feeling guilty of Hulking and BW guilty of her spy/assassin past, then deciding to temporarily leave the Avengers to try out a normal life together (with Hulk leaving in the end like in the movie), I guess it could have worked.
Louis CK dropped his as well a few months ago (interestingly, the cuck meme was soon spammed on this very board).
Another comedian Frankie Boyle announced that he was no longer engaging in conversations on Twitter and that he would only use it for promotional purposes.
Perhaps, more celebs with follow suit and use Twitter sparingly or abandon it all together.
>If you think the called Whedon up and said add more sexism to the script, you're a fucking idiot.
Execs don't believe the romance subplot is sexism. This is commonly added because execs believe romance sells. If anything, I think the execs pushed that, and Whedon put the final nail by adding BW's lines (being sterile, joining him in the shower, etc).
>letting everyone in the world immediate access to you is a bad thing
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?
In my opinion with the rise of smart phones. everythings been downhill ever since for the internets
I really just want the Twitter Age to end. Instant access to everyone has made everything worse for everyone. Pull back, stop engaging people in twitter 'discussions', and just go back to releasing promotional statements through a single source and maybe we'll reverse some of this societal decay.
>"Maybe I shouldn’t be annoyed that the only major female character’s primary arc is a theoretically unrequited pining for a nice guy with major anger issues, or that said character briefly gets captured by the villain in the second act and tossed in a cage for no reason other than to be rescued by her male compatriots, but yes stuff like that annoy me a little, especially coming from a filmmaker who has a wholly justified reputation for playing different notes for his female characters."
It's ogre for Whedon!
It really didn't get going until a couple of years ago when they started heavily pushing faggotry, then suddenly every faggot in high schoool/college had to be "cool" by taking part in a "movement" where you find some piddly-ass shit to make a big fucking deal out of to "fight inequality and oppression" while ignoring real inequality and oppression going on in the world
An example is SJWs ignoring ISIS throwing faggots off of rooftops for the lols while shitting themselves with rage because some Christians don't want to make gay wedding cakes.
>it's obvious that Avengers 2 had lots of exec meddling
All Marvel films do. Whedon could have walked out at any moment but he kept going because he's a misogynistic piece of trash.
>But when did the SJW started?
When social media became popular and larger internet groups started forming properly. Before facebook, internet groups were pretty much neckbeards and hackers on steroids, trolling and shitposting. Now literally everyone and their granny uses the internet so there's a lot more SJWs about, circlejerking and thinking their 'progressive' (yet oppressive) views and blog mean shit. They also take the internet too seriously and can't handle trolls without getting triggered because they can't into internet fun.
She put a lot of emphasis on the sterile part. I bet Banner knows she was an assassin/spy, so there's no point explaining why she thinks she's a monster. But we find out that she thinks she's horrible because she's been trained to kill AND she's sterile and not like other women.
>"In the Red Room where I grew up--where I was trained--you get a graduation ceremony"
>explains they removed something from her so it's efficient to work and kill
>"Still think you're the only monster in the team?"
Their opinion doesn't mean shit, but they are speaking from the position of official ideology. Never forget this.
They fancy themselves rebels, but they demand what the establishment already does.
Most will become part of the system and vote Republican. The Boomers came of age in the 60s and thought everyone would become radical liberals. A decade later, they voted for Reagan twice and then for GHBush. Hilariously, this is what drove Xers into depression.
it's a 10 anywhere, she's a beautiful model.
She IS more of a monster than banner though. He had no say in what he became.
She will never contribute life to the world
All she can do is take it
And steal stuff corporate espionage style
And cut her own tits off
And make crappy quips in a shit transformers knock off
>They fancy themselves rebels, but they demand what the establishment already does.
Exactly. They also think they're liberals with progressive voices of reason, whenever they're more akin to fascists.
The cognitive dissonance is strong with them.
it's a little bit of ink she got to express herself or express something she loves. she's still a beautiful model.
Jesus christ, I don't fucking love Whedon. I'm just saying it's usually a mix of exec and director.
I'm having a hard time believing it was all Jackson's idea, but feel free to correct me if you have sources. I read an interview of Evangeline L before, and she stated when Jackson asked her to be cast they had a deal that there won't be any love triangles.
Eh.. I think it existed before then on tumblr and shit but the Kony 2012 is when it leaked onto facebook and really started to blow up.
>LOOK MUM, I CAN MAKE A POLITICAL DIFFERENCE JUST BY SHARING A PICTURE AND THINKING THAT WILL SOLVE A PROBLEM
I don't know why my favorite joke was in AoU. It's probably a tie between Banner falling into Black Widow's Breasts, the Prima Nocta joke, and Hulk's penis joke. Whedon is such a comedic and progressive genius (just like Bay).
That's typical liberalism
They're all for black people, but once those colored folk start moving into their neighborhoods and they can't see those black asses at night in the dark, they pack up and "white flight" the fuck out of there.
>up in here
Joss Whedon, the voice of the urban youth.
She's been doing on-and-off bra-stuffing for the past year or so
I see your point, but I don't think she had a say as well. It was kind of implied that she got scared from doing the graduation ceremony but she can't do anything about it too.
And not contributing life to the world ain't so bad. There are a lot of humans already. But yeah, I understand why she thinks she's a monster. It's just her own views. Maybe the movie should've had Banner comfort her and tell her she's not a monster just because she couldn't bear children. That would have probably shut the SJWs up.
I can't get enough of these.
This is probably my favorite, which was probably posted on the first day the problematic issue blew up
Is there a version where it's transparent and moving?
The problem with Black Widow is if you show her next to the real supernatural heroes of course she's going to look short changed. You can't put everyone next to each other with vastly different power levels and expect it to gel. Remember River in Firefly, she was essentially retarded but had some moments where she was useful, then in the movie we finally see what she was capable of. Her and Widow were pretty much the same thing, government experiments. So why did one work so well and the other fall short? It was in HOW they were used. I would expect anyone making big budget hollywood movies to understand this fucking film and character 101 shit, but I guess not.
There's also not that many of them, but they have an entire industry of clickbait websites with lazy "journalists" who are happy to parrot whatever insane issue they're upset about to earn their $10 a story. This is the greater problem than whatever a pod of tumblr whales thinks about children's movies
SJW blew up in college groups about 10 years back and spread across the Internet. However, it's something that has been around a lot longer in main ideas. Like in the 60s - 70s it was extreme political correctness, which also started in the university space.
>you will never be on the internet pre-2008/9 ever again
It truly was a golden era, then every prick under the sun worked out how to use it and everything went to shit.
The thing about Black Widow is if I wanted to watch a film about a human with no powers, trained by assassins before betraying them and working for the good of humanity followed by helping to set up a collection of earth defenders, I'd just watch batman.
If I wanted a female superhero film, I'd be asking for Squirrel girl, not Black Widow.
