At what point did you start to hate Walt?
>you will never ride bumper karts with walt & jesse
I never hated Walt. He's a horrible man, but in a weird way I empathized with his fucked up ego. I think BB is a perfect portrait of how American masculinity can turn to darkness. Even by the last episode, I still felt a kind of sick sympathy for him. That was always the real genius of the show — making us feel bad for a guy who poisoned a kid.
Before season 5 walt only killed mexicans or niggers.
But killing a white man was too far.
>inb4 those two guys in guses lab
They never actually showed walt doing it, he could've just knocked them out.
Never. He was always right; he was doing it for his family.
Now Skyler on the other hand... What a BITCH! Why was she trying to protect her children all the time and just getting in the way of Walt's business? Didn't she know it was all for them?!
>Except for ordering a hit on 10 suspects in jail which led to them getting brutally killed.
no doubt the dude was a murderer, but he was killing other pieces of shit
i've never considered walt to be a 'bad guy'. it's funny when people say they hate him. he was entirely rational throughout the entire series
S1EO1, about a minute in.
>i always thought his actions were entirely rational and justified. guess i'm just a sociopath like walt.
You pretty much just summarized this show's shitty fan-base. Fedora twirling edge masters all around praising it as the holy grail of TV shows.
>he was doing it for his family.
Until he decided he wanted to be the king and fucked everything up. If he kept on working with Gale and forgot about that pathetic balding piece of shit junkie manlet he'd have had a good life.
I was late to the Walt hate train. I didn't start to dislike him until after Mike died, then through season 5 I started to root against him, but right around the time he was supposed to have that meeting with Jesse where he thought it was a setup and dipped out, from there on I started to sympathize with him again. And once
Hank diedI was fully back on board with him
>I watched Jane die.
Walt seriously did a lot of fucked up things to Jesse.
You sure showed me guy. That was pretty relentless of you. You must be right, you are a sociopath, and a good one at that.
And your response? When you said XDDD that's when I knew that you really were le danger. Damn that was some stone cold sociopath shit right there.
Entirely justified, addicts should be responsible for their lives, plus Walt thought he's dying and leaving a family with an infant and a cripple is pretty grim
Entirely justified, asshole wanted to kill him first
Entirely justified, crazy bitch would OD in a week anyway and drag Jesse along
Entirely justified, idiot knew what he was getting himself into when he started to cook meth for Gus, it's not like Walt killed an innocent puppy to save himself
Entirely justified, Walt is genius chemist, obviously he's smart enough to know the exact non-lethal dosage
Entirely justified, Mike was an assassin and a liability. Fuckoff Mikefags.
Entirely justified. 10 criminals involved in meth business to save my own life? Count me in.
Entirely justified. Gus is a gaylord.
Not that anon, but have you been reading this thread at all? Breaking Bad fans post the cringiest, most fedora level replies.
Walt's ego in season 5 made him unbearable. The constant fedora tipping, le epic speeches "Say my Name" "threat lightly" to boost his ego and killing Mike was infuriating.
Are you dumb? Walt blamed Jesse for Hank's death. Thats why he told him about Jane, and allowed him to be dragged away (not that it was really under his control). And he STILL came back for that little traitorous shitstain
>it's not like Walt killed an innocent puppy to save himself
it's exactly like that, actually
>these 8 things are the only bad things walt ever did and they were all justified because HURR DURR IF OTHER PEOPLE GET SCREWED OVER IT'S BECAUSE THEY DESERVED IT
I could never really see Walt as a bad guy, he never convinced me.
This fucking scene. Forcing Jesse to stay having dinner to convincing him that muh wife sucks and muh empire is all that I have left.
I was actually leaning toward how he was stuck with a controlling bitch wife.
I absolutely hate everything about Skylar and haven't found a single redeeming quality in her character.
>dat "did he tell you that i fucked my boss?"
>dat ice cold "may i be excused?" while pouring a fuckton of wine into her glass as she gets up and leaves
skyler was way more badass than people give her credit for
when he started going against gus concerning getting rid of gale
gus was an asshole but he couldve just been like "hey gus, you know how you need 200 lbs a week minimum? well if you get jesse in on this, we can make even more" and gus probably wouldve gone for it
boom problem solved, but like mike said, it was all about walts ego
He never thanked Jesse for the birthday present.
And Jesse was the ONLY ONE who gave him a present.
Pathetic loser, his only friend was probably Jesse as well and he doesn't even hang out with him.
the little stabs they did to kill the prisoners. jesus.
the only thing more laughable than that was when todd fired his pistol
>jesse going through pretty much PTSD after
>"hey mr white, wanna go ride go-karts?"
>"no i'm good"
>that scene where he's speeding along the go-kart track with dead eyes and screams at the end
you're right they should have used their 10" serrated fixed blade hunting knives that can bleed a deer with one slice
they're in prison you moron, when your knife is a "sharpened" toothbrush handle you gotta rinse and repeat a couple times
i started disliking him at the beginning of season 5, but i thought him not turning himself in after burying the money was where he really pissed me off
come on dude, your family can get the money if they want it (i dont believe they would) and you go down as one of history's greatest criminals
>guess i'm just a sociopath like walt.
i was under the impression that gus wouldve not given a shit since walt only had like 3 months to live at that point
it was only when walt started being a shitbag that gus wanted him dead
When Walt build the robot killer transformer car I hated him, and everyone ever connected with the show. Forever.
Are you retarded? It was obvious he wanted to kill him since season 3, he just needed to have his formula and then replace him with Gale. They even tried to kill him at end of season 3
Worst thing was that he never really had his 'king lear in the storm' moment when he suddenly realises that he's a cunt and all of this is his fault. He died without really regretting what he did, solidifying his fedora-tier personality as something noble and understandable.
When Walt convinced Jesse to break up with Andrea. Walt knows that breaking up with Andrea gets Jesse closer to him.
And a few months later he told the Nazis about Andrea and Brock and used her to kill Jesse.
>making a simple oscillating motor would be difficult
>for a known chemistry genius who could synthesize the purest meth known to man and is basically a fucking science prodigy
People choose odd things to sperg about.
>making a simple oscillating motor would be difficult
>for a known chemistry genius who could synthesize the purest meth known to man and is basically a fucking science prodigy
I hated it because it was so stupid a plot device, not that it was too hard for him to make, how did you even get that idea?
>I thought that was just to give Skyler closure.
Walt spends the entire series telling everyone that he kills people and sells a very dangerous life destroying drug all for "muh family", everything he does supports that.
Then at the end after his life has fallen apart he's trying to make things right and tells Skyler "I'm just a jerk".
It was all a fucking game to him.
Seriously, I get all tingly when I watch that scene because the music is great and everything, but he's dying and he's smiling about what has happened? How he destroyed his family, proliferated the sale of meth internationally, made hard criminals millions of dollars, caused the deaths of family members and let his adopted son figure rot for a year getting arse-raped by nazis.
And he's smiling?
Did you not understand the whole Elliot, Gretchen, Grey Matter story? Walt felt that was all his because he earned it, but beta Elliot got the business AND his girl. Then Elliot offers him some money, FUCK that. I guess everyone is different, but I'd be prideful in that situation too.
>You: I must cook meth to pay for my medical bills and save up for my family
>Mega-rich old friend: Nah it's cool man I can pay
>You: kek gud one m8
>Entirely rational and justified
>i cant put aside muh pride for my FAMILY and instead resort to putting them in DANGER and becoming a part of an EVIL TRADE
i dont understand how ANYONE can justify not starting to dislike Walt at the moment he rejected grey matter in favor for his empire
I hated Walt early on, but have always loved the character and the show is some of the best TV I have ever seen.
The whole series was retarded since as a teacher in the USA Walt would have access to unlimited top notch healthcare. Teachers in the USA are highly unionized and have great benefits. There was no need to go around killing people and selling drugs.
Pic actual teacher contract from where Walt was supposed to be employed.
>Walt wants 5 thousand shekels
>its somehow his fault
and so what, instead of sucking up his pride he starts making meth and becomes a drug lord? What kind of person does that?
I feel it was too sincere to be just simple closure. This is a guy who was lying to himself this whole time, this show wasn't about him doing it for his family, this was a show about a loser who finds his balls and becomes a fucking star.
He was denying how fucking beautiful and exciting it was because that's something bad people do.
Finally, he realizes that he is infact a bad person, and accepts it. I'd agree with you maybe if he didn't spend all that time alone to reflect on what going back for his family as Walter White gained him, and what staying in the cabin as Heinsenberg loses him.
He goes and dies as Walter White, he accepts that the piece of shit Heinsenberg is the mild-mannered Walter White. The final police discovery being the zenith of the marriage of the two identities.
>God damn it he didn't do it for his health you twat
You should set aside some time and watch the series. Walt says he doesn't want to go bankrupt paying for his medical bills and wants to leave cash for the bitch and the cripple. Then it all snowballs.
I kinda sympathized with Walt rejecting Grey matter. yeah it was prideful, but this is a pity job offer from a guy who got rich off of your ideas and fucked your girlfriend the whole way. Elliot could have offered Walt a job years ago, but only choose to do it when he felt sorry for Walt.
I didn't start disliking Walt until he got involved with Gus. He was always a pussy about anything that came to Gus, and they never even would have had a falling out if Walt wasn't so damn paranoid.
Speaking of snowballs, the way they tried to portray Walt as Santa Claus was fucking weird in the last couple episodes.
When he tried to manipulate Jesse into cooking meth again after the kid on the motor bike got shot.
>What have you got in your life, huh? Nothing. No one. Oh wait, yes. Videogames and go-karts. And how soon will you start using again? Come on you want is as much as I want it.
Everything depended on the neo-nazis allowing Walt to park his car in one exact spot then have all the neo-nazis stand in one certain place so that the transformer robot machine gun car was perfectly lined up to kill everyone.
forgive me fine sir, or m'lady, but it appears you have made a grave mistake.
Walter White is a supreme gentleman like myself and has to put up with the inanity of the stupidity of others- he only wanted what was best for Jesse.
>What the fuck was the thing he made to do with?
>I hated him after Mike
I hear you bro.
Sad .gif is sad.
If Walt had superhuman powers that allowed him to predict what everyone else would do and where they'd be at any given second of time then why was he making drugs instead of living in some super-villain lair running the world fighting people in capes?
pretty much this. I wish the writers didn't make it so obvious right from the start that it was purely an ego thing with him. The whole series got fucked because they ramped up him becoming an asshole so quickly that they had no choice but to turn him into a mass murdering mastermind in the end.
Should have taken it slower, had him kill crazy 8 or whoever halfway through season 1, and then skipped everything involving gus as it was pants-on-head retarded
>and then skipped everything involving gus as it was pants-on-head retarded
Agreed, the show significantly drops in quality once they introduce Gus. I don't mind his character but the story starts falling apart at that point.
When he let Jane die I disliked him but when the whole Gus thing started I was rooting for him again.
Mike wasn't actually one of my favorite characters (I can't be the only one, right?), but I started disliking Walt when he killed him.
Season 5, he starts getting cocky, but that was Gilligan's intention, once he decided to quite, right before Hank finds the book, the character was likeable again.
The moment the show started to display within season 1 that anytime he got GOOD AND ANGRY ENOUGH (!) he could go super saiyan and fuck with people's shit, then walk like a badass off into the distance just before the credits rolled.
Breaking's Bad a saturday morning cartoon for adults. Fun shit, but stupid shit. You knew Walt was going rogue the moment you met him.
Just how causcasian are you guys? Jesus. Did you watch it while eating a mayonaise pepperjack cheese sandwich while drinking a pumpkin spice latte, too?
That's all the whitest things I could think of at the moment, but holy shit..
Watch the documentaries yo, Gilligan himself says Walt's acting cocky because he managed to outsmart Gus, the first person he had ever found that was genuinely threatening since he was more intelligent. So in season 5 he feels like no one can fuck around with him anymore and that by killing Gus, Heisenberg has become a name everyone can truly fear.
I'm Chilean, Breaking Bad is great
> I HEARD GUS FRING MIGHT BE INTERESTED
around the start of season 3 is when you are supposed to hate him when he started to ignore skyler's agency and then he tried to get out of the meth business and pretend he wasn't a bad guy when he clearly was
I don't think I ever hated Walt, but I think the moment I felt he was morally irredeemable was at the end of S4 when it was revealed that he poisoned the kid to manipulate Jessie. It was at that point where it was pretty much "no turning back."
He is smiling because the Nazis got rekt, and, the lab makes him remember older and simpler days. I mean, I think Walt is a cunt and all, but it was hard to hate him in the last episode.
Only alpha males can understand. He crushed his opponents before him, heard the lamentations of their women and died gloriously whereas pleb beta vermin like you will live your whole life being a candy ass bitch ass motherfucker before you shit yourself to death.
>destroyed his family
disloyal cunts who deserved what they got
>sale of meth
hey don't hate the player, hate the game. He doesn't force people to buy meth. they buy it themselves.
more like useful idiot
>caused the death of family meembers
Honk was slack jawed idiot who causes his own death. The funny thing is if they had all just listened to Walt, the whole family would have a mansion each and be chilling in the bahamas. But because of MUH MORALS, they're all poor and miserable. At least they can eat their self rightousness when they're hungry. Not.
He's pretty fucking selfish in the worst ways, though he at least admits in the end that using his family to try and justify everything he's done was bullshit. Killing Mike was probably when my hate for him spiked the most though.
>and died gloriously
After spending a whole year fedora tipping in an abandoned shack dying from cancer. What a glorious death.
Pathetic pleb Walt sympathizers are the cancer of this fanbase.
Yeah, he's not trying to disprove the character and his motivations, it's more aimed at the edgedoras that ALWAYS justified his actions by spouting "BUT MUH FAMILY". Hell some faggots even tried to convince people that walt was lying when he told skyler he did it for himself.
I started hating him when he poisoned Brock, mostly for how he fucked with Jesse's emotions and played the victim.
I fucking despised him when he melted Drew Sharp and then gave literally no fucks about it.
Pretty much when he had a chance to get out of the game and live high on the drug money he made, but instead decides he wants to be a hot shot drug kingpin and continues down his path to self destruction.
But his massive ego always was his weakness.
Well yeah, like I said. Brock was fine, but he completely mind-fucked Jesse. When Jesse had that breakdown after he found the planted ricin, and Walt just let him suffer, I couldn't fucking stand it.
>mfw I cheered for Walt for the entire series start to finish
>90% of the Walt column is the first 2 seasons
>half of Jesse's is retarded shit like eats funions and says bitch a lot
I can't tell if it's a retarded walt-fag that made this or an incompetent troll
>"Yo Mr. White, here's 5 million dollars"
Gimme the methylamine Jesse
>"Yo this like, what we've been waiting for. A chance to get out. No one else has to die and we still make out rich"
I WANT TO RULE THE METH WORLD ND HAVE MORE MONEY I CAN SPEND!
That and the fact that in one episode, they stole $15 million worth of methylamine when before it took them 4 seasons to break even.
Walt had access to the two best assassins west of the Mississippi and saved them to the very end to save his own worthless ass.
When he made the video to frame his brother in law. Also his retarded actions led to the death of his brother in law and another innocent cop who where just doing their job.
If Walt really cared about his family why did ruin all of their lives in the process?
Walt loved his family so much he tried to stab his wife to death in front of their son.
Walt loved his family so much he left his baby girl in an empty vehicle in the garage of a bunch of dudes he'd never met before in the middle of the night.
>and i mean name some musicians. don't name sports. sports are objectively the lowest form of entertainment.
>realised that Spain are dominating every mainstream sport they put their hand to and backtracked fucking fast.
