it was deniro's and pesci's best performance together. the only thing i dislike about casino is the same problem i have with all of scorsese films which is his direction of female characters. the guy has a knack for creating the most obnoxious female characters possible

My dad made me watch the parts leading up to and the actual scene of burying joe pesci while he was still breathing when I was 10. Dat shit still gives me the heebie jeebies, and casinos make me uncomfortable

The Godfather is a film I really cannot fathem. Even among average people, you're hard pressed to find someone who has seen it but doesn't like it.

I just found it so incredibly boring. I'm being completely serious, and I'm happy to hear people out if there's legitimately something I'm missing. I just found myself total disengaged.

I also found it very irritating how Italian didn't have subtitles.

I didn't enjoy the movie that much either, it's a complex movie with many characters that is hard to follow at first, but after rewatching it I liked it much more.
I mainlly respect it because of its influence on cinema and how it became the template for basically every gangster movie.

i saw it in theaters in mid-April, and it's fucking great. one of the best looking films in recent memory, great performances, engaging episodic format, one of the best final shots i've ever seen - there's a lot to love in it. if it had played longer than a week, i probably would've gone to see it again.

Tom Holland isn't exactly a lead - he's in the film for maybe 20 - 30 minutes at most, but he gives the best performance i've seen from him. Pattinson and Hunnam are in top form, too. James Gray is great with actors, for sure.
