the food is best here by far, love the po boys and Cajun. im pessimistic because it was advertised (at least to me) as a super fun coast city with plenty to do on the beach. But now that im here its vacant because its polluted. Other than New Orleans and Mobile am i outta luck?

if you are truly in the city of Gulfport you might be in for a rough time. I personally avoid it, but ocean springs and Biloxi aren't that bad. in fact it's the place to go if you want to party. the people are friendly and very sociable. Mardi gras is big down here so you don't have to go to New Orleans. if you want good beaches you have to go to Florida or Mobile which is 1hr 1hr39min away. I spend most of my time in ocean springs or Mobile. Also the rivers are great for catching both fresh and salt water fish. but if your not an outdoorsman your going to have a long six months.

get the fuck out you Yankee son of a bitch. we've been through a lot down here and you can thank the give for making it impossible to rebuild our business on the coast. I had a coffee business myself that was torn down.

I recommend going to the casinos. they are fantastic and they provide great venues. several casinos in the area are home to the best seafood on the coast. they even rival Florida's resorts.

it true that the beaches are bad and it hasn't recovered from the hurricane. a lot of casinos down there if your into that. you will have to go to Mobile (it's closer and safer than New Orleans) for more entertainment. I'm from Mobile but you might check out ocean springs it is hip and artsy. If I had to guess you are military or work directly for the fruit company's cuz there not a whole lot else going on down there.

you have gulf shores and orange beach which are really nice beaches, I mean it's not the bahamas but they are pretty good for sitting your ass in a chair and downing a sixer of Modelo, and if you go North there are some pretty great trails for hiking and riding around the Natchez area, plus a lot of cute plantation towns that are so friendly it's not even funny, just explore, people give the south a shit reputation from staying in our "cities" and seeing a couple of reject fucks, but for the most part the major problems with the south is that it is hot as shit most of the year, other than that you just gotta dodge a couple niggers and rednecks, but they mostly stick to themselves
