Hello /trv/
Just wondering how feasible it would be to collect $10k and then proceed to spend the next 20 years of my life backpacking around the world. Obviously 10k isn't enough to pay for that long so I will be picking up work wherever I end up either to earn accommodation or money.
My secondary aim is to fuck massive amounts of women on the journey.

How reasonable of a goal is this? At the moment I feel like starting out in Europe and spending a good 5 years there. Its the most expensive place so I will have to be very disciplined with money. Hoping to pick up French citizenship at some point. After that I will proceed to go through safe middle eastern areas, india, asia, australia, new zealand, central and south america, and finally ending off in Africa just because its the most dangerous place and I would rather risk my life at later age.

Any comments on this map?

Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. I already read the entire artoftravel thing in the sticky.

backpackers are equivalent of gypsies

do you want to be a gypsie? fucking retard
>>
>>1293023
I'm wondering OP, how old are you ?
>>
>>1293023
simple. leave with 10k and if you ever get to 1k and dont have a means of continuing use it to fly back to your parents.

everything else is just whether you actually enjoy the poor unattached uncommitted gypsy lifestyle.

i don't really care. Much better than being a bitch to the system
>>
>>1293139
"the system", lol
Better rebel by using your parents' money to vacation for months.
>>
>>1293145
Except I am making the money by working minimum wage for a year, not by taking their money.
>>
>>1293147
So you're rebelling against "the system" by doing minimum wage?

Great plans for travelling the next 20 years, but you have never travelled long. Just try out travelling for 6 months first.
>>
>>1293023
So it's completely silly, you don't know shit about you're talking about and it shows.

Start out in a cheap country, your money will last longer and there will be enough of a shock value to see if it's the kind of lifestyle you want.

Some country for beginners :
> Thailand
> Vietnam
> Morocco
> Indonesia (Bali)

Btw, backpacking implies you're moving frequently. You don't stay in a spot for 5 years... That's just being an immigrant abroad.

You can slum it short term, but the longer you go, the more you'll have to invest money beyond food and accomodation : visa, insurance, healthcare, transportation, misc. (there are a lot of these).
You can probably teach English around the world, but you need to get some training and yes, that costs money as well.
If you want to work, you need to get actual working visas, and it's not easy. If you work under the table, you will have a VERY unreliable life.

Planning to travel for 20 years is really fucking dumb, OP. You'll very likely be sick of it within 5 years and will just keep going in this shitty lifestyle because there will be no way for you to get out.

Also
> My secondary aim is to fuck massive amounts of women on the journey.
Ha, teen hormones.

> hoping to pick up French citizenship
They don't give it out like candies you know, you need to live there for a long-ass time to apply (10 years, with tax receipts and all that shit).

>TL;DR
> Give it a try in Thailand with 2k USD, try to find a gig as an English teacher and sees if you're not bored out of your mind or realize you're throwing your life out the window after 3-6 months there.
> Spoiler alert : you most likely will and will get back to your country and find an actual job.
