Have you gone to Fiesole? It has some old Roman buildings that might be worth seeing.
It's twenty minutes by bus from Florence.

if you like free wine and olive oil tasting, I'd suggest you go to San Donatino, it's a farm own by french famous singer Leo Ferre.

It's completly free and limitless, the place is wonderful and you get your own space doing all the tasting you like without anyone bothering you or pushing you to buy.

It's also not so far from San Giminiano, a nice medieval city.
