Utter nonsense. There is no such certificate. Your mosque will be asked to vouch for you when you apply for the hajj visa. If you're not an active member, do not expect to get the visa.

We're still in the very early stages of planning. I will eventually make a thread about this again when I come back, but that will be at least another 6 months.

Yes, as I understand it, but not a lot. And you're only allowed to roam Mecca freely.

I'm from Belgium. I'm planning to do the umrah, not the hajj. The application process is much simpler and I prefer smaller crowds.

Understandable, I wonder why the conversion rate is so high between young women.
However, make sure he keeps the sanity, converts are always the ones who are unconditionally convinced by the ideas of the religion. I hope at least he's happy.

First off, you're a retard.

Second of all, nobody really gives a shit about your religion once you reach Saudi. Your passport doesn't say your religion, so all you need is apply for an umrah visa and do whatever evidence they need to prove that you're a muslim, Masjid testimonies and all that crap which everybody can do. And for sure you don't need to memorize anything from the Quran. I studied it since I was young in school and I myself don't remember more than a few short Suras.

On a moral point, though. You know that Saudi Arabia issues a certain number of visas for each country a year. So when you get your visa, you're taking one away for a real muslim who needs it more than you. I don't give a shit about it, but if that resonates well with you, apply for an umrah visa. Not only because it's a 100 times easier, but because Hajj visas are more scarce and people grow old applying every year and don't get one.

Any ways, not sure why you wanna do this. I go there almost once a year for Umrah and did my pilgrimage once before. It's exactly how it is in photos. Very rarely I'd feel spiritual or take in what I should take in. Plus it's way hotter than you imagine it to be.
