Let's have one of these...
Pretty straightforward:
Blue - Your country of residence
Green - Countries you've been to
Dark Purple - Countries you will visit soon (This year)
Light Purple - Countries you eventually plan to visit
Red - Countries you will NEVER visit
Grey - Undecided / Neutral / Not in your plans at the moment
Sorry for the shitty quality
Also Puerto Rico is dark purple, if it's too hard to tell
>>1278269
Template because OP was too much of a lazy shit to provide one.
>>1278297
This is a really weird map, by the way.
If you look closely, you can see that Hong Kong & Macau are visible as separate pieces of land, as opposed to just being part of China.
However, the same can't be said about Singapore. You can see Malaysia & Indonesia, but Singapore isn't clearly defined on its own.
>>1278269
I'm not planning anything in the distant future except Australia next year
Also, I cannot see myself going to any African state, I just do not see any becoming civilised enough
Here's my map with plans on countries I'll visit only within the next year or year and a half. I have further plans to visit many more countries obviously but don't have specific plans to visit them.
I will be traveling again this year but it will be back to Indonesia and Australia and possibly the US.
>not using the official /trv/ approved Real Traveller™ map
>>1278349
Color variation
>>1278349
Nah that map sucks, very unfullfilling to colour in.
>>1278351
That's why it's called the Real Traveler map™. Can't just color in all of Germany because you had a layover in Frankfurt.
It's way more meaningful than the easymodo map.
>>1278269
Life is so short and world is so big!
>>1278354
Let people decide for their own please.
>>1278354
It also requires advanced autism to bother coloring it, as well as extraordinary memory if you´ve been traveling for more than just a couple years.
>>1278349
Why is texas only one piece, but buthan is like 100?
Texas is bigger than most countries!
This map makes no sense, and is only for the most autistic amongst us.
>>1278418
Because it's a map that divides its country into its administrative divisions. US-> States, Bhutan->Dzongkhags
Slightly changed colours from OP because they're not exactly very noticeable. Iran not exactly this year, but spring next year, which is within a year. Same thing right.
>>1278297
good job
>>1278363
>map is all purple
where do you pull all this money to fly so much?
>>1278449
So that makes this map useless.
>layover in LA, colour in all of california
>vacation in buthan, have to zoom 200x just to see the space you fill in.
I've "been to" some other countries as well, but just so I could get through to other countries, so I didn't colour them (for example I had to drive through Belgium and France to visit UK, but I was there for an hour or two and only on the highways).
>>1278463
>will never visit France, Poland and Lithuania
>Planning to visit 3rd world shitholes like Mexico, Brazil and El Salvador
Enjoy your death, anon
I just left the US for the first time this past January, so I've got some work to do. Studying in Panama this coming January, then in Spain in July. Hoping to either get there early or stay late and explore at least Portugal and France as well.
>>1278319
Howdy. Where did you visit in Costa Rica? How was Panama?
>>1278269
can't find mordor
>>1278464
well, it says "distant future"
If anyone is interested this is the updated first level administrative division map of the world
>>1278532
Also mapchart.net has regional maps for each continent
>>1278538
oops let me know if you see any more outdated countries
>>1278464
Travelling is my life. So 30-60 flights a year are normal for me.
Actually I just realized that I missed to color some countries like Korea and others. Oops.
>>1278519
In CR I went Alajuela right after landing, 2 days there to visit volcano Poas. Then went to La Fortuna for a few days, San Jose for a few, Manuel Antonio and then did a 3 day trek in Corcovado. Really liked CR and I got super lucky that I found a guide into Corcovado because the trek there was one of the most interesting things I've ever done in my life.
Panama was alright, I was only there for about 5 days + the day I flew out. I stayed in Panama City the whole time except for 1 day where I went to Portobelo. I'd like to go back there some day to visit some of the national parks, my goal is to some day ride a motorbike from Argentina to Alaska over the span of a year or so and will be back there.
>>1278571
That's awesome, I went to Poas and Manuel Antonio as well, both great. Didn't get to check out Corcovado, though. It was for a study abroad trip so the activities were more structured and I had some restrictions on where I could go and such. I'd love to go back someday.
>>1278496
Yeah because those 3rd world trashcans are underrated. Cheap tacos with lots of salsa. And lots of beautiful churches.
I hate France, the only thing they got is Notre Dame. Their food is all vegetarian and baguettes and the language hurts in my ears. Poland and Lithuania are just boring.
>>1278558
LOL 60 flights a year would drive me insane,
here it is, i probably won't be able to add any more green for at least a year unfortunately.
>>1278583
>Only thing they have is notre dame
Literally retarded, even just in paris, even just considering churches there is more. Not to mention the countryside.
Go to a real eatery, not a street place run by some unhygienic spic who has never touched soap in his life.
>>1278593
>Go to a real eatery
>Pay 50,000€ for half plate of vegetables.
No thanks.
And yes there are more churches and those are nice, but not enough to drag me to France.
>>1278583
>lots of beautiful churches
modern churches built in the XX century with 0 historical value, all dirty etc right?
>I hate France, the only thing they got is Notre Dame
Finnish autism at its best
I'm not a big fan of France but at least I can admit they have many beautiful buildings with history
Notre-dame alone has a bigger value than all the churches of that 3 shitholes combined
If you honestly think that Poland and Lithuania are "boring" countries, then I don't know what you find attractive, a slum perhaps?
>>1278590
Oh wow what did belgium ever do to you?
I will admit it is boring there, but i cant imagine its worse than yemen, south sudan or afghanistan!
I literally want to visit everywhere (I might wait for some countries to change their regime of course)
>>1278594
more like pay 10 for an actual plate of food
At least mexico has the basilica of guadalupe, i'm thinking of visting next summer.
>>1278467
>counting layovers
>ever
Don't count layovers, especially in real life.
I had countless people ask me about my "trip to Japan" when in reality I happened to be there for a few hours while waiting for my plane to Hong Kong.
>>1278738
why not visit bulgaria or georgia ahmed?
>>1278521
It is east of Gondor, roughly around 96 miles from Minas Tirith
>>1278802
>ahmed
Oh fuck off cunt :DD
I live in western turkey and i'm planning to do a caucasus tour actually georgia-azerbaijan-armenia and maybe squeeze in eastern turkey too
And i cant be fucked for the Bulgarian visa tbqh but i do want to do a muh heritage trip over there
>>1278914
What does niger have that makes it so unappealing? Surely it is no worse than mali right next to it
The yellow ones were layover. The red places aren't because I wouldn't like to visit them but because I think it's not possible to do in a lifetime. I'm 23 so I have about 50 years of traveling left, two year long trips and a month long trip each year should make it possible.
South of the Equator would be nice
>>1278973
Seconded
>>1278935
it's name says it all
Already did Malta and Crete this year, I doubt I'll have the chance to go anywhere else.
Out of all the lilacs, I'd say China is the number one choice, but I'll settle for anything with a discount plane ticket on offer.
>>1279005
Come join me backpacking around SEA next year, kolego.
After going back to Australia and NZ I hope to visit a few of the Pacific islands in the region and then going to SEA for an extended period of time.
>>1278583
Although I'm a Brazilian and I believe Ouro Preto has the pinnacle of barroque churches, we can't compete with Chatres
>>1278269
So much of Europe still missing
Big trip coming up, I'm stoked.
Currently in a dinky-ass village in rural Tanzania.
Staying here until the beginning of September and then traveling to Zambia to see Victoria Falls and its surroundings. Spending about ten days each in Zambia and Egypt before heading over to India.
Did Mexico for a month between June and July.
Supposed to go to India on October 1st but meh. I've been there seven times and lived in New Delhi for about a month and a half. Honestly not too enthused about going back again - I had a fucking stellar time in Mexico. Nobody fucking stared at me, annoyed the piss of me, or was even moderately unfriendly. Even the beggars went away with a "no, gracias."
Plus, food was outstanding.
Planning to ditch India in November and either do some more of SEA. Might also return to Mexico to go to a wedding in Oaxaca (some grill said she'd pay half my plane ticket, but I'm not that much of a dick) or do Guatemala and whatever else.
>>1279214
Sorry for the blogpost.
Distant future, planning to do a Michigan-Brazil/Argentina motorcycle trip after I graduate university or get an MS, depending on when I get money.
Not going to travel much for the near future. Really getting sick of meeting new people, making local friends, and them moving on to the next place once I start to feel at home.
Going to take Spanish classes in Mexico all next summer instead.
Impermanence of traveling relationships is getting to me.
Sorry again for blogpost, 1:30am and I'm in a fucking village and literally have to be my friend's show-and-tell project tomorrow.
Poor country = sad life
>>1279256
some people aren't rich or have a good life like you, you know
>>1279256
I have literally met people in their 40s who have never left their birth country.
>>1279267
t. richfag
>>1279239
Don't worry about the dickwad saying stupid shit. I didn't really start traveling till I was 25. I've been to like 5 countries until then. Now 6 years later I'm at 21 and in 2 years it will be at around 40-45. By the time I'm 40 I will probably have been to 100 countries.
>>1279267
So you tell me that a poor african kid or some kid with a poor family from, lets say, Albania or Serbia can travel easily to Hawaii or France and spend a week there? They just can't be ""retarded"", right?
You are the type of people that should get real cancer, idiot. You must be a spoiled kid who thinks everything in life is easy.
>>1279421
>>1279499
also i forgot to say:
People arent poor because they are dumb. Many are because of economic and social problems of their countries. Of course you never suffered what these people are suffering, because you have a lack of knowledge about this situation, so I might say you are the dumb person there :^)
>>1279501
>>1279421
>>1279499
Folks, can we please get back to the original topic -thx
Bunch more countries would be black but cant be bothered.
>>1279214
How is Tanzania? Met a Japanese girl who traveled alone there multiple times. Rwanda too.
>>1279415
When I went to Hawaii I met a Slovenian teacher who was there for a whole month, a week each on a different island. I asked her why she didn't go somewhere else as well, because this was her whole vacation, just Hawaii but she thought it was a stupid question to ask because in her mind just going to Hawaii was more than a dream for her. I personally wouldn't want to be there for that long.
She was a high school teacher so not wealthy at all.
>>1279543
At least its better to be a high school teacher than to be unemployed or have a shit job, right? You get actually some money being a teacher ;)
>>1279551
I'm originally from Poland and I know the teachers there get really shit wages so I can't imagine the ones in Slovenia getting a decent pay. Maybe it's different if you're from a big city or work in some private/IB school.
>>1279521
a brief rundown
I arrived in UB on the train from Irkustk at 6am and it was -15 C and foggy with pollution. The city is a bit of a clusterfuck with a few inexplicably shiny new skyscrapers being built amidst commie blocks that haven't had a lick of paint since the 50s. Sadly there are street beggars in this dismal weather. The people are friendly and chilled until they start driving, when they become psychotic with rage. The women aren't attractive, the food is average or poor. They have a random beatles statue, went in a big commie era shopping mall that was stuffed with western brands. There are no coins, just notes and the lowest denomination is worth 0.3p. I paid for one beer with 19 notes. It was actually more expensive than Russia. As soon as the sun sets the air fills with coal smoke as everyone lights fires at home.
I went to a few monasterys, the gandan khiid has an amazing statue. Another smaller one I forget the name of, we watched the monks chanting a hypnotic mantra which was surreal. Drove out to the big chinggis khan statue (ugly piece of junk) in the countryside, scariest drive of my entire life, 2 lane "motorway" full of old haytrucks which block your view, but everyone gets up the arse of the trucks and then pulls out to overtake at the last second even around corners. The Gorkhi national park was beautiful, very serene, untouched. Stayed in a ger camp for a few nights, it was actually quite commercial with western toilets and a kitchen (I stayed with the navajo in arizona, who had no running water and did bison steaks on an open fire). The gers were extremely comfy. I walked up a mountain on my own and was followed by a dog, I realised it was a dog from the camp I was at and he was probably protecting me from the many wild dogs in the area. deffo the most random place i've been, I often thought "why the fuck am I here?"
and s. america
Easter island: Amazing
Santiago: meh
Buenos Aires: Amazing
Montevideo: crap

I'm staying in a village in central Zanzibar and haven't spent much time on the mainland.
Everyone here is quite nice to me, but I suspect that's largely because my host is a long-term Peace Corps volunteer who's fluent in Swahili. We've known each other for four years. He told me that he had a very difficult time gaining the villagers' trust, and that they were initially quite rude. They love him now, though.
Didn't like the taste of Dar I got on the way to Zanzibar. People seemed a bit more aggressive, in a physical way, and I've been told the city suffers from lots of petty crime a la Latin America (purse snatching, express kidnappings, and so forth).
I'll travel to a few scenic places on the mainland before I leave at the beginning of September.
More or less trying to save money for the time being.
I've been an ESL teacher for almost 5 years now, and it has given me so many opportunities to travel. My favourite country so far is Armenia, but Poland is a close second. Love you, Poland.
Back to China this September - hoping to have visited 5 new countries before this time next year. We're all dying, you know?
>>1278922
are you descended from bulgarians or by "heritage" do you mean your country's history?
discounting stopovers. I'm not well-travelled. Moving to JP in a few weeks to fulfill my weeaboo fantasies though.
>>1279901

>>1279690
oh i meant my grandparents came from yugoslavia and bulgaria
why would paint something red? never say never
Countries I've visited in red. No excuse for living at the bottom of the world (NZ)! PS what are you lot using to create your maps?

(If you are muslim, what was the hadjj like?)
>>1278363

This is going way too slow (oldfag)
>>1278494
Why so indecisive about Mongolia?
Lived in Morocco for about a year but all the other "visted" spots were from short vacations. Need to improve my MSA/Arabic dialects a lot and then I hope to visit more of North Africa and the Middle East. (sucks that studying Darija is only useful in Morocco/parts of Algeria)
>>1281919
damn nice
do you also have the regional map
>>1282333
Just curious, why haven't you been to SUI? It's right there bro
>>1278269

>>1282507
Paint has a bucket feature in the upper left corner.
>>1282507
You travel to them real fast?
Or do you mean the image? Photoshop tool called Paintbucket
I was born in one, I am currently living in the other, and I want to do a big world trip one day. The only places I'm not gonna visit are the countries that either scare or disgust me. Keep in mind I have nothing against Judaism, but Israel shouldn't be a country the way it is and the way it handles everything...
leaving in a month for 3 month trip
>>1282923
my biggest hope one day is that i can go to iran without being restricted to having to hire a tour guide. it's such a petty cockblock to regular citizens.
Can't think of any place I'd never go, though there are some I would not go at the moment.
"I have not been everywhere, but its on my list."
>>1281919
You need to come see us in the US, we cover a big portion of the map, you can flll it in faster. Canada and Brazil are also calling you.
Born in England, lived in the US for 5 years, going to China for my year abroad
After I've finished my studies, I'd like to go to Taiwan, Korea, and Japan but don't know if I will go through with it
>>1278533
Holy shit Slovenia
>>1283105
Also macedonia and london
>>1282942
I will do that. All in good time. Thx for the invitation. My first priority is getting enough money this year for a massive trip of Vietnam, Sabah and Sarawak, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Ghana. Maybe I can locate some weird combination through ITAmatrix that does not ruin my budget. I have about $1000 now. If I manage to locate 4 months of "free time" and an additional $3000 I can go. I have some passive income and a bro that can lend me some if I get into trouble somewhere.
