It's easy enough to find prostitutes in hotel bars in Qatar. Obviously no locals, they will be mainly Russians and Thai.

I am in Qatar right now with the military. It is meh. Don't bother with the women other than the Other Country Nationals (Non natives). It is to easy to offend these sand chimps by looking at the wrong girl.

Qatar is my least favorite of the three gulf microstates I have visited (Kuwait, UAE are the other two.) It seems to not have much "there" to it. Which may just be that I couldn't get plugged in like I wanted, which may be on me.

But anyway -- if your right friend is going to take you into his home and treat you right, go for it. Is he an Arab? Arab hospitality is legendary, definitely go in that case. But even if he is an expat, why not, if you haven't been?
