In October I'm heading to Europe for a week (from the US). Specifically, I'm flying into London for a football game, then meeting my two friends who live over there. Looking for reasonably economical ways to get to other countries.
I'd love to go to Paris for two days maybe, and stop over in Germany, Sweden, or Switzerland. Is this feasible? My friends live in Milton Keynes, and would let me crash in their spare room like they always do, but I'd hate to go back to Europe and just repeat that.
Am I stupid for just trying to spend a day or two in Paris & otherwise? Is it majorly expensive?

No spend your week in MK, and the surrounding area.
Visit Oxford and the Cotswalds and Stratford Upon Avon. Birmingham and Coventry have beautiful architecture too!

I agree with this guy, or you could do one three/four day trip to some city.
For cheap ways of getting around check blablacar, flixbus, and of course, Google flights+Momondo. (Ryanair sometimes flies between London and Stockholm for below £20, for example).

That's perfect (Ryanair), and I'll look into the others. I'm not concerned about finances at the end of the day, but my friends might be.
