I am planning a trip to South East Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos) in January. Has anyone ever used the G Adventures tour service?
SE Asia is not a place where you need to take a tour around. It's really easy to get around on your own, there's tons of backpacking infrastructure set up for it.

Well I think I would be more comfortable traveling in a group, and I like the fact that they throw in free meals.
I've never used G adventures but have used Geckos and Intrepid. If you get lucky with the right group of people it can be amazing, if you get stuck with a couple of cunts it will really kill the buzz of the whole trip. The tour leaders are usually very chill and happy to have drinks with and organise any unsavoury activities you would like to do. Or at least give you solid advice on how to go about doing it. The itineraries G adventure do is baically your cookie cutter attractions with a home stay or 2 chucked in for "authenticity". These type of tours use a tipping kitty system that feels like a bit of a rip off.
Like the other anon said. SEA is very much built for backpackers and you can save money just planning it yourself.

Where would you need group travel? Antartica and Africa?

>organise any unsavoury activities
so they would help me visit hookers? and maybe buy weed?

Nah he's right. It's easy as shit to get around (especially in Vietnam with the sleeper busses) and food is cheap as can be unless you plan on eating steak and potatoes every night (which you shouldn't).
If you stay at a hostel and have any semblance of social skills you'll group up with people your age without a doubt. I don't know how much you're willing to pay for this tour but I guarantee you it's not worth it. Buy a return ticket, do a lot of research on things to do and what to avoid and you'll be surprised. Or don't.
