Hey /trv/ I'm going to Bangkok in early September and wanted to do a 3-4 day trip to Krabi or Phuket. I've been to both albeit a long time ago and therefore have no opinion on either. Is there any major difference in terms of beach quality, and things to do outside of lounging on the beach and going to bars? I'd prefer a place that offers more scenic and adventurous activities away from the beach. I'm not a big partier so that's not important to me.

In that case, go for Krabi - and Ao Nang specifically. There's a ton to do if you get bored of beach/snorkeling/day trips. There are a bunch of nice restaurants/quiet bars around as well, at least one with live music most of the evenings.

Unless you go to the south western end of Phuket near Kata beach, which is quite laid back, roghly 30-40 min to town.
