I think they specifically mean American Express cards. This would make sense, as Visa & MasterCard have far more reach & ubiquity.

The black forest is close, so are Heidelberg and Bavaria. Hohenzollern castle should also be interesting, but Ive never been there.

Stuttgart is not a very interesting town in my opinion though.

Don't listen to this nub. Credit card acceptance is surprisingly low in Germany for a developed country in general if you compare it for neighboring France for example.

You could enter a downtown McDonald's that doesn't accept credit cards and it would not be an uncommon occurrence.

It's not uncommon for young Germans to get their first credit card only once they start travelling on their own for the first time.

So, bring cash.

For example, I quite like Hong Kong's Octopus card system. It's only really meant for public transportation, convenience stores, and fast food restaurants, but those are also the only times where I want a fast payment system of some kind.

Mercedes and Porsche museum are worth a visit. Nearby Schwarzwald for some nature experience. If you like history go to Ludwigsburg and see the castle/palace.

Cash is king here. Don't rely completely on your credit card. Maestro / GiroPay are much more accepted.

Hate to say it but Karlsruhe is also worth a visit. Can recommend especially Badisches Brauhaus.
