Given that you haven't said what country you're from, what country he's from, or what either of you do, that's a very difficult question to answer...
I am from Australia and he is from the UK

Yeah it's easy, it's just expensive. I'm an Australian who moved to the UK, first on a Tier 5 then a Tier 2 visa. If you're young, get the tier 5 youth visa then try and get a job that'll let you stay.
Do not underestimate how much it may cost and how fiddly it can be. You may want to get a 3Rd party to help with the application if you are a useless fuck or easily confused. Try first contact

Also, if you are moving there be sure it is for the right reasons. Don't move to be with him, move to live in the uk, with him there to assist. Chances are you'll break up within 2 months or so of arrival (especially as he sounds like he hasn't thought this through), so you'll want to want to be there without him too.
I'd advise checking out the work situation and finding cool stuff that you'd like to be there to enjoy that do not include him or anything to do with him. That way if you break up, you'll have reason to stay and the entire county won't be associated with your relationship.

things could also be infinitely easier if any of your grandparents were born (didn't have to ever live there afterwards) in the uk or ireland

>moving to another continent because of a guy you've been dating a couple of months
