Oh yea you stay in a good hostel? I loved St. Petersburg but my hostel was shit. I was only there for 3 nights so I couldn't move. I want to go back next year and want a good place to stay. I might just do a hotel since it's so cheap, but I want to go out with people.

I'm stay in rental appartaments. I't MUCH better than hostel or hotel.

Programm is standart - Hermitage, Russian Museum, Petergof, Tsarskoe Selo, Orienbaum, Summer Garden etc. Avoid drugged/drunk idiots and their nightclubs.

Sup OP, I'll be spending the whole month of July in St Petersburg for a summer school course, where are the best, cheap places to eat/ get pissed/have a coffee.

I value your judgement over Lonely Planet.

Also, how tall are average guys there? In cities like London the average height feels like 6'1.

Cheap places are shitty. Avoid them. Seriosly, you don't want eat in company of beggars, migrants and drug addicts.

prices to normal appartaments begin from 35 000, but add to this 100% comission and pledge 35 000... IRL prices can be even higher

There's really no need to spend so much, Russia isn't an expensive country, on Russian sites you get places half the price of what you see on ones in English.
